Why aren't more well known games on the backwards compatibility list??

    Why aren't more well known games on the backwards compatibility list??


    I noticed that the list of Xbox 360 games compatible with the Xbox One have only about 500 votes each, while games such as Sonic Generations and Final Fantasy XIII have over 10 times that amount of votes. Why haven't you put these games on the list yet??

    Backward Compatibility

    Hi, if your favorite games are not on the list, don't worry, chances are they will be in the next few months, as more games get added. Keep an eye on the backwards compatibility page for more info.

    Because the votes is just the first step

    You still have to wait for the publisher to approve it

    Plus ms has to write a patch for it

    This takes time and publishers won't always want games to be repackaged because of licenses expiring or future remake coming out

    Some of them are. All backwards compatible games are listed here - https://majornelson.com/blog/xbox-one-backward-compatibility/ Games are still being added as backwards compatible
    so it is possible that games that aren't on the list will be added, but it's also up to the publishers to allow them to be compatible.
