    Im not rich !!!! I'm done , I've already cancelled 4 pre-orders and will sadly become a bargain bin/ price drop holder outters 75 bucks thanks for the slap across the face to a loyal xbox gamer who had over 200 games on the 360 not including downloads
    . I don't think this will make you more money , more people will just wait out the storm and buy the games when the price eventually drops. I was looking forward to Watch Dogs next week but I can wait a few months I guess , I waited this long so why not .

    Why are games more EXPENSIVE after Xbox One launch? $69.99 vs $59.99

    As most of you in North America know a standard Xbox game costs approx. $59.99 + tax. This has been the standard price point for the entire Xbox 360 lifecycle.

    If you haven't noticed yet, some new games coming out on Xbox One & even Xbox 360 are coming out with higher price points.

    Example EBGames

    Destiny $69.99

    Batman $69.99

    Elder Scrolls $69.99

    Day Light $69.99

    Middle Earth $69.99

    Mad Max $69.99

    Transformers $69.99

    The Crew $69.99

    SpiderMan 2 $69.99

    South Park Stick of Truth $64.99

    Dark Souls 2 $64.99

    Thief $64.99

    Why have we deviated from the price point that Xbox gamers have come to expect & accept?

    Why are you forcing gamers to now think twice before buying a new game.

    New games will fail because people just won't buy them, as they don't have any loyalty to those games yet.

    Haven't Xbox One owners paid enough to cover the R&D costs of the forced unnecessary Kinect 2.0? And nickle & diming with DLC.

    As far as I can tell, in the USA, the MSRP for new Xbox One games is generally $59.99. Where are you paying $69.99?

    Does MS actually set the price for the games? I don't know how they'd be able to, considering they do not own the rights to the games. This would be the publisher's responsibility. I don't know why the prices rose?

    It depends on region. For example, the cost of a yearly membership in Canada went from $59.99 to $69.99 back in 2017.

    Although, that has more to do with exchange rates than Microsoft.

    It's also why games went from $59.99 at the start of this console generation to $79.99.

    Keep in mind, taxes are also 13% in Ontario, Canada.

    Canadians now have to pay more for games

    And so it begins...Sony has announced that they're raising the price of the PS4 in Canada from 399$ to 449$. New games are also going up in price, Infamous and MLB14 will be 69.99$.

    Fortunately Microsoft said that they will NOT be raising the price of the Xbox One. Good job MS! As long as the price of Digital games remain the same, I'll be happy.

    ie. Destiny at Bestbuy in CANADA = $69.99

    USA = $59.99....

    apparently Canadians aren't as appreciated.
