Why are Xbox consoles limited with game genres?

First let me start by stating that I've searched everything so you're not stating anything new. Secondly, all those titles you mentioned are pc ports or indies and can barely be called 3rd parties. Aside from Baulders Gate, the rest of the titles mentioned are either old as dirt or lack quality. Especially Edge of Eternity which I reviewed already. All the "rpgs" you mentioned are either too short, too money hungry, too lazy and my personal favorite; uninspired clones that lack any real story (and no that's not subjective).

I'd appreciate it, if you put more effort into your response next time as you essentially said nothing.🤨

Fine, here's some input: have better quality control and stop allowing just anyone to post games that are obvious cashgrabs or "artistic" love projects. We need more mechanically complex games as we lack such, there's barely any decent rpgs that are compelling or have ACTUAL content that's "fun". Solo rpgs are limited, there are too many cashgrab games and mobile ports that act just as they would on a phone (extensive micros); every MMO on xbox is severely bogged down by some cash shop (PSO2 wasn't, now it is). The action adventures section and other genre sections, consist of 90% INDIES. This is a problem.

We need more games like:

FF14(example of fair MMO)

Armored Core

Rise of the Argonauts

Record of Agerest War

Fable

Tenchu Z

Angry Birds

Iron Brigade

Ascend: Hand of Kul

Faery: Legends of Avalon

Marvel Alliance 2

And more.....

All these games, aside from FF14 were on xbox and now we have no access. All we're left with is indies that aren't up to par and have no quality.

AUmm I dunno where you are getting your info but you seem to be limiting yourself

One there are plenty

Not just bc title baldurs gate is a reboot

Of a pc only title

A lot of major.3rd party games have been delayed that's a GLOBAL ISSUE not a console issue

And other then ff16 which is a sony exclusive

Xbox does get major rpg titles

Farscape.huh we just got.chrono cross last month

Like chrono cross which is a remaster

Money is in multiplayer not single player I hate to tell you this

Microtransactions are king

You are going to be hardpeessed to find titles without it

Especially small.third partires

We got the outbreak series

Mostly the only thing we don't get as far as major titles is are sony or.Nintendo exclusives

But we get Nintendo 3rd party games and so does Nintendo get Xbox or sony 3rd party games

I find a lot.of them via game reviews

You gotta remember ms is actually better for third parties vs sony this generation with gamepass and this is an industry fact.

Gamepass titles are actual hidden gems I found many if them via gamepass and game reviews

Edge of eternity is a this year title.and included with gamepass and a sleeper.title because it's not a major 3rd party game.But quite well done acrtually even kingdom.hearts

Dragon quest builders 2 is a timeless classic

With the new upcoming version just announced friday including xbox

You gotta.remember sony is just catching up with exposure with the new psn prem which isn't till another month and will.be backdated on major sony titles

3 rd party rpgs or action arent as stylish or intense like final fantasy or.resident evil but they have story and gameplay

You just gotta look beyond the budget and read reviews there are many hidden gems and yes day one titles and yes there are articles and articles on gems hidden in gamepass and even steam that can be puchased or downloaded steam does highlights for steam funded indies

That's only 12 and it's only a recent article you can find quite a few and gamepass and Xbox store has highlighta sections you ain't reading beyond the screenshots if you ain't finding them

Articles are your friend so are highlight reels

Even on on sony you cannot find hidden gems unless you read articles

I wouldn't have found the new dq builders title if I didn't see the article because square didn't advertise the trailer too well

All that previously announced was an unannounced non dq builders title being in the works by the team

With the pandemic titles are.delayed and what we see released now are delayed titles

Personally I wouldn't have found titles on pc like master of the wind or Baldur's gate which is a classic and free or low cost without articles

The master of the wind Using the vx engine rather then unity or unreal

It's not flashy but if you play it you know why it's fun

It's a garage made rpg game with only a couple people involved using rpg maker vx engine

Did you know the mega hits rise of the triad and Doom.and Duke.nukem .were made.in a garage

They were free for.the.first esposide then you paid 5-15 bucks for the complete game

Not every good game has a big budget or fancy graphics

Myst and loom.legendary games were 8 bit graphics or in.older.versions pixel.graphics not featured polygon like .we.have.nowadays

I agree with you, yesterday I had a browse through what's available on the console store and I was shocked to see that the available games seems to have shrunk massively, sorting by genre and you get games that appear in multiple genre so duplicated, so I looked at all games, there seems to be hardly anything available, I would say about 50% of the games that are in the store are basically shovel ware, 30% old games and BC titles and the rest are a mixture of third party and first party descent titles.

Looking on the PS store and there is at least double or even triple that amount and better quality, then on my PC on steam, origin, ubisoft, gog etc etc, where i do most of my gaming the list is to large to compare.
