Why are Xbox 360 Families being penalized?

Yes, but the 360 is the console we have and I am not paying for the Xbox one just to get back the services they took away. Microsoft has basically rendered the 360 almost useless in favor of a console lots of people think is an overly expansive piece of
crap. they throw out our ability to decide for our self what works best for us. Even if I had wanted to get the Xbox one I would have never thrown out my 360, but put it somewhere for gaming party or to watch netflix or something but if it doesn't have multiple
accounts on it, it doesn't work very well now does it. this is not a good buisness plan. I no longer want to wast my time and money on a company that thinks I am just a mindless dollar $ign.

 

MS is only losing money with this decision. Considering the fact that Sony was allowing it's players to play for free when MS was charging a fee was bad enough. MS could have kept it's money it was making off of 360 players as well as made income from One
players. The family plan, before, covered four members for one hundred dollars. It now cost two hundred forty. This means MS is banking on keeping one member for every two point four members it loses in this decision just to break even. I've been a gamer since
Atari and Colecovision; on both PCs and consoles. I've watched many MMOs come and go as well behide these tactics of poor business managment and ego driven decisions. As poorly as such decisions went in the time of gamers being mostly children in the 1980's;
the out come with be significantly worst in our advanced time of many options of digital entertainment where over seventy percent of gaming clientel are working adults. One fact is universal: even the best of products will fall when the company spits in the
face of there consumers.

 

You don't need a Family Plan for the Xbox One. all you need is one Xbox Live gold for one Xbox console and it works for all members on that xbox one. So, it's $59 for a year for all users on one Xbox One. Don't Expect Sony to be any different, because
they are not.

@Brute, actually the gold only works with 6 accounts maximum. One would need to buy another gold membership for every account after that.

 

Your forgetting the point this entire thread was created upon, you have to buy the Xbox One to get that package lmao aye

 

i am another who cannot afford the new xbox one console and have 4 in the house who i had the family pack for .. now no one has gold as its unfair to pay for one and not the others .. i cannot afford 4 or 5 live accounts .. its bye bye for us if we cannot
afford to play now .. it really sucks for people who cant afford upgrade n there consoles are still good and working and dont need to buy the newest console .. sad and mad at microsoft on scrapping the family deal for xbox 360 ... you will lose more money
as people will not buy now at all

 

well that solves everything let me see 3 new Xbox ones $1500 and one gold member ship $99 then the four games we like to play at $60 each by 3 $720 yea that makes sense $2319 yea it is less to buy 2 PS4 (I already have one) $800 and two plus accounts $100
and 2 games by 2 ( I already have them for my PS4) $240 total $1134. Let me see lose out on my time with my sons or Pay $2319 or covert them $1134 saving $1188 I can get more games for our new PS4 and trade in the Xbox and games also yea thanks Microsoft

 

In March my family membership is finally going to expire. I currently have 4 family members with gold accounts and 4- 360s in my house. I have been a member for 7 years. There is no way I'm going to buy individual memberships for each family member costing
me $220 a year just to play games I've purchased at full cost.

So in March I'll be selling my 360s and walking away from xbox forever. I know that they have the buy one membership per xbox one deal but there is no way I'm going to just own one xbox one if I were going to stay with xbox. I'm not going to listen to
my children argue about whos turn it is to play on the xbox. I just counted my xbox game collection and it stands at 172 games and that doesn't include the arcade games I've bought map packs and other things.

I'm currently borrowing a friends Xbox one to try it out before he sells it (he bough a new one) and I'll probably have to let him sell it to someone else since Microsoft is pricing me off of Live. Microsoft tells me that they enhanced live by giving out
free games every month but all but a handful I already owned and it is no real benefit to me either. Plus by the time they give them away the price of thoses games has dropped so much that I could buy even more then that amount with the extra cost of my membership.

I've been told by customer support in the past that I should look for deals at stores and online butt even at $40 which is $20 off the new higher price per year I'm spending $160. That price is still unacceptable. Plus I missed the current black Friday deals
because they sold out quickly. I'm thinking of just going with steam accounts and using skype for free with my families future gaming. Steam is aways discounting games for lower prices them xbox and they don't charge a dime to play online. Also unlike
xbox there seems to be a longer life span to online games.

The only thing that will keep me with xbox is reinstating the Famliy membership plan that you took away from me.

 

March of next year would mark the two year anniversary of the family pack ending.

Take comfort in the fact you got an EXTRA TWO YEARS out of it.

 

Steam accounts aren't going to be the solution if you are looking to save money.

Yes Valve offer better sales than Microsoft but to play the latest games you're going to need to spend a lot more than the $220 a year for four Gold memberships.

 

I feel your Pain op but no offence if you buy a PS4 your going to have to pay for each and every family member as well.
