Why are these issues still happening?

I would like to know why the problems I had with my xbox 360 are happening to my xbox one. When I bought my xbox one I was happy to say goodbye to the worst and most annoying issue ever, 'open tray'. Then not even a full year after I had it, sometimes blu
rays wouldn't work. Before long they just stopped working. I would get the 'make sure the disc is clean' or 'make sure its the right kind of disc'. Then, it started to do the same with regular dvds. There was a certain noise the xbox360 made when it wasn't
going to work. My xbox one is making a similar sound when the disc doesn't work. Now dvds don't work at all. Its 'open tray' all over again. Why is this even an issue? Is there anything I can do about it? Maybe its time to get a playstation.....

my thing is, whats the point of reporting. its not a hack, its just knowing the coding for it. its not hard and people are doing it alot and it has no harm to game play or anything. the ones that have caused harm have already been delt with. also why report
everyone if they already know about it. its so easy to fix yet they haven't done it yet. maybe they put this in fr the people who are smart enough and have the guts to use the tags, you also need creativity to think of something to use as a tag or you copy
someone. i still don't see the problem in it. i didnt even know it was against the rules till i herd someone rage on someone using the tag and were reported.

 

What sort of environment do you keep your console in? Is it kept in a place where it gets dusty?

As it`s possible for tiny specs of dirt and dust to build up on the laser lens of the disc drive and this will prevent the discs from being read.

Try using a good quality DVD lens cleaner disc to see if that solves the problem. The Maxell brand are recommended for consoles.

yeah.....I've heard that devices and consoles these days aren't built to last very long. After a person spends hundreds of dollars on games, only to have the console break, there is a good chance they will just buy another console. I don't know if its true
about the 'expire date'....its funny because my 20 year old Nintendo64 still works.

Sounds to me that the disc drive is going defective. There’s not much to do there if this is the case. The best option that can be suggested on this forum would be to send it in to Microsoft for repair... or avoid disc games altogether and go digital?
