Why are the Apps so slow?

Is anyone else having issues with the apps being slow and at times not working. The Friends, messaging, and achievement apps always take forever to work, this shouldn't be an issue, even the the 360 can handle these things For this being the next
great thing, it really fails at being a gaming console. Sorry for ranting but if anybody knows why the apps are as bad as they are or when they'll be fixed please let me know.

Why are the good apps only available in the US?

I was looking forward to so many of the apps that were shown in the promotional videos leading to the xbox one launch such as the NFL app, HULU TV app, etc. only to find that these apps are not available for the UK version of the console. The apps that
are available are pretty poor, with the xbox one looking so promising in the build up I was left disappointed when discovering 4OD, 5 on demand and Netflix were the only TV apps available, as for sports, eurosport is the only available app and let's face it
other than the one or two NFL games they get a week nothing else is really worth watching. I feel that the UK always comes up short when it comes to things like this which is ridiculously unfair as we have to pay the same price for the systems as those in
the US but only get half of the apps. Are there any plans in the future to bring more worthwhile apps to the UK xbox or is all the good stuff exclusively for the US?

Sorry that you feel that way about apps in the UK. We, unfortunately, cant speculate as to when the UK will have those apps available. continue to check with Major Nelson as to the next releases of apps to certain regions as well as on
new.xbox.com.

If loading times have decreased it could be the cache build up on the xbox. Have you tried holding down the power button for 7 seconds and rebooting the system? This usually works because there are many things happening in the background of the console.

The xbox can multitask many apps and a game at any given time. After using some apps or a game, go to the Home screen and use the Menu button to quit some apps that you are currently not using.

Also, if I may ask, are you on the Preview Program? If you are experiencing screen locking and really bad slowness, this is expected and should be reported on the Preview Forums.

I do a pretty good job at quitting out of all of the apps because they are just too much of a drain on the system when playing cod ghost.. The party app and friends shouldn't be a significant drain, so what else is running in the background that slows
this down so much. Right now my clan is struggling to get everyone in a lobby together and we can't. Several times a night we get booted from the game or the game itself freezes. I wished the problems were just with ghost but it seems to be the issues with
most games. In general the One seems to be really sluggish, even the 360 seems to be running quicker than this.

I'm not in the preview program. Most of my friends are looking to trade their One's in and get a PS4 because of the issues.

Its good to hear back from you. Generally though this never really never happens. It appears this last month of July had it pretty hard with the servers. A couple sources say its either the intense heat on the server farms, or one source says it was Destiny
Beta might have caused all this discrepancies, but I wouldn't bet my money on it.

You can always check the Xbox Status page to see if this has to relate any of the issues related to this..... And I can assure you, Xbox will get much better in the future. Engineers and Servers work around the clock to get things working as fast as possible.
The August update is looking real good, plus all the new features, and loads of bug fixes. Hang in there, Xbox One has only truly begun expanding.

Try the methods I suggested, if it still occurs, contact support about the issue, feedback means a lot!

Lich, this is not true, i had this issue (especially with ghosts running) from the beginning!

when i start up ghosts pretty nothing really works! if i am in a lobby and whant to see someones profile i can't open it! it takes too much time!

maybe it is also ghosts which is just poorly programmed, or it is the xbox that is not really next gen ...!

i for myself am pretty unhappy with my choice to keep on supporting MS with the one! hoped to get a real gaming machine but it is not!

 

Other issues I've recently had is with the NFL app not loading videos and being slow. Titanfall likes to disconnect from the server randomly while in the lobby and sometimes during mid game. The party app will give me an error and say that I can connect
to the party but after that it shows me in the party but I'm unable to communicate with anyone till I exit out of the party and sometimes I have to reset my xbox one.
