    Why are some enforcements not able to be appealed?


    I just got "instabanned" from communications while messaging a friend whose headset was not working in-game. We often do this because they are awaiting a new headset; in fact, I can see the word repeated multiple times in our chats. It was the British version of (Mod Removed)

    There is no way to appeal this? So I got a two-day comms ban for something that has been said multiple times between us. The way it happened led me to believe it was some sort of AI controlling it. I just want to appeal it, because in my opinion, when chats are daily between two accounts, they should be recognised as not being abusive towards each other. I'd have understood had I just messaged a random with abuse, but this is someone I've played with through Xbox 360 and 3 versions of the Xbox One/S/X. It's a longstanding back-and-forth.

    No,they can't be appealed retrospectively.

    Although the word might seem ok to you or me it's still classed as profanity which can't be used over xbox live.even as banter between mates.

    Ah, makes sense, can they be retrospectively appealed once served?

    It just seems a bit silly to have a strike against my account for something that we say daily that isn't even offensive in the context it was used. We were chatting about his mic being broken and I said this.... Seems a bit much, no??

    Short suspensions can't be appealed because by the time they've investigated it again the suspension would be over.

    There should be a reason why it was done, they provide that in every enforcement situation, take a look at it and you are more than able to file an appeal on the enforcement website, and the folks are very understanding if there was some sort of accident.

    No-one on this forum will be able to tell you. The only place to find out about enforcement matters is the Enforcement website:

    https://enforcement.xbox.com/en-US

    The enforcement should be listed there along with the reason why and an appeal button if it is appealable
