However, if you have exhausted all the steps and contacted Xbox Support before and the escalation has failed due to "lack of information" just as you have mentioned, I'm afraid there are no other ways to recover a Microsoft account. Contacting Xbox Support is the last resort to recover a compromised Microsoft account.

Why would you have to recover your account? If you let your Gold Membership expire you simply become a Free Member and can still connect to Xbox LIVE just fine.

They would have been added to your Microsoft account balance. If they took place over a year ago, they would have expired which is probably why you would not be able to find them.

Over a year later and seems this issue still not sorted as I have same problem with my daughters account
