    Updated a game

    I was downloading an update for elder scrolls online and it froze halfway in to the download so I decided to just cancel the update and restarted it so I clicked cancel all thinking that it would cancel the update but instead it uninstalled my whole game,
    does anyone know why this happened?

    Canceling downloads deletes the whole game!

    I've lost over 10 games because of this absolute anarchy.

    If I start downloading an update but want to cancel (so it won't start during an online game), instead of, like the Xbox 360, stopping your update and making you play offline, it deletes your whole game, no matter how big the update.

    WHY!? WHY WOULD THIS HAPPEN?

    I run off at hotspot so I don't have the bandwidth to download games, let alone updates more than 500mb.

    So is this a way of Microsoft saying "bad internet? bad luck" or is there something I can do to stop a whole game being downloaded over a tiny update?

    Thanks for your reply.

    I understand that installation is going to be large but having to download a 65GB update is just ridiculous. That is over 20GB larger than the installation itself. There is got to be something wrong there. I think I saw someone mention that the update is the whole game, which would make sense, but WHY!!!! would you have to download the whole game again. Surely if the Xbox 360 could download small updates, why does this new bit of kit have to download the complete game. Not only that, just under 780GB of internal space on the console isnt going to leave alot to play games, without having to deinstall others. And if you want to play that unistalled game again, you then have to go through the same rig-moral. As good as the graphics might be on the Xbox One, I don't think my time with the XB1 will last. But thanks again for your input.

    I bought the digital version of ForzaHorizon 5 - it's installed, it takes up over 100 GB on the disk - the game works and it's ok, BUT once a month there is an update of the console system, then to play ForzaHorizon 5 you have to download the game update (the game says it needs to be updated) and so every month it updates 14 GB ... however, the size of the game on the disk does not change.... But why does the game itself have to update after every console update?

    And this is why leaks are stupid and potentially damaging/dangerous, IMO...

    People are so desperate and impatient, wanting information and satisfaction now that they can ruin it for the rest of us. It's the whole entitlement thing all over again. If only they could learn to have patience... :(

    Doom developers basically release a huge patch contained all the dlcs and season pass content for free that's why the update size is 60GB which is the re downloading of the whole game
