Why are game clips being deleted from my EXTERNAL hard drive!

That does not help but thanks, I'm asking as to how to turn off auto-delete? Why is it deleting clips from my EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE? It shouldn't have the right to do so... I'm just frustrated by this; £60 hard drive and it's not being treated as a seperate
entity

"Any game clip or screenshot uploaded to the Xbox network that gets no views in 30 days will be deleted. Viewing it yourself counts as a view and saves a capture from deletion."

So, though it is external, the Xbox will read it just as additional storage, and the same rules may still apply.

First, thank you for your reply. So what I'm gathering is that even though my clips are off the Xbox network, and saved on my external hard drive, they are still subject to deletion? Why even give the option to store game clips to external drives if they will just be deleted anyway? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of this option?Also,

This does not apply to me because I've viewed my own clips several times and they still auto-delete.

I'll just save myself the headache and store them locally from now on.

My assumption is that you connect the external hard drive to the Xbox, thus adding it to the Xbox network when you connect it. It's like when you download a game to an external hard drive, you can Still play multiplayer because the console will read it as its own storage. So, when it checks the data, it compares and contrasts to the data it has then performs the expected action.

If it ends up that you save locally and it persists, you may still want to report it to prevent a future headache.

If it is doing that still even after being watched and gaining views, if you can, can you submit a Report-A-Problem report so that our teams can take a closer look at the data of your Xbox and how its operating? If you decide to, make sure to provide as much information as possible so our teams can know which part of the system to take a look at when confronting this issue.

What kind of hard drive is it? How much space does it have? Does it have videos and games downloaded on to it or just videos/clips?

Sorry to here this, Have to ask if you using a external hard drive at all? have to ask due to there is a way to saved clips on external hard drive. It is extremely odd for it to delete games from reinstalling a game. Can't say I have heard of that one
