Why are 6 years old playing this game

@outsider.. Im with you on that's, it's all perspective, opinion. My 9 y/o is only allowed to play Peggle 2, max curse of brotherhood, and zoo tycoon. My brother lets My nephew, who is also 9 is allowed to play DR3, cod. Is either one of us right or wrong?
No. It's how we choose to raise our children and what we, as parents, deem appropriate for our kids. No one else has the right to tell us what they can or cannot play. We can make suggestions and be like DR3 has a lot of blood in and gore in it, farcry 3 has
nudity and have the information out there, but telling ppl "no, your kids can't play these games or go online" is not right. I don know if I personally would go as far as calling it censorship, but I'm sure ppl out there view it that way.

Edit: WOULDNT go as far as calling it censorship...

Not sure about DR3 but the kids sure like camping and talking waaaay too much on Cod. One of my workmates let her Grandchild play Cod Ghosts, the kid is like 5 years old and was scared. The general public have no idea and will let this happen.

I can agree that very young kids should not play most M rated games, but I think when you have a teenager it becomes a question of maturity and taking the time to play the game yourself to police things. The sad truth is that most game consoles are used
as baby sitters when the parents have something better they want to do, so they don't care what the game is or its rating. All I can say it that the games are rated M for mature. Everybody has to determine what they consider to be mature for themselves.

Thing is, how many of us here played older rated games when we were younger. OK, maybe games were not as violent graphically back then but I was playing Doom when I was 11. I remember thinking this is violent goodness. Only been in prison 3 times since.

this topic of kids playing games is as old as the hills and will gone on for as long as games are made , the answer to it is , and that's the problem there is no answer , I aint saying its right to be honest I hate younger kids playing games made for adults
, its one of the reason game can get bad press , at the end of the day its not the kids fault is the parents . at the end of theday its just how it is and some kids are more mature than others.

It comes down to opinion. I think my son is mature enough to play certain games, you think there are no exception to the ratings you see. Can you really say that HALO, any of them, deserve a M rating? I don't think so. I feel that my son is mature enough
to play DR3. That is my opinion, and my choice. Nobody has the right to say I do not have the right to make that decision. But I also PLAY the games that I allow before I allow him to play. I do police things. I do not just go out and buy any game he wants.
Yes we do have the right to file a complaint if you do not censor yourself, because talking like that in any game is against the TOU and COC. The LIVE service is a family service. You agree to the TOU and COC when you buy your subscription. Foul language is
not allowed on the service even if you are in an adult related game. I have filed several complaints against people for language. Most were adults.

Honestly I believe it depends on the child. My 14 year old knows and understands that this is just a game. As far as mature content, trust me here, he gets far worse exposure just watching tv or going to school. If a parent decides that their child is mature
enough to play an M rated game, I do not have a problem with it. Personally I watch while he plays an M rated game for the first time. I also play the game myself before deciding if there really is a problem with him playing it. He almost has a deeper voice
then me and he conducts himself well online. I really think it completely depends on the maturity of the child. Also, there are many M rated games that should not be rated M. Halo comes to mind here.

Parents who buy M rated games for their underage kids need to either have their kids taken away from them or go to prison, or both. Why not buy them cigarettes too? Microsoft needs to start cracking down on underage kids playing adult games. Not only do
they ruin them for the people who are actually old enough to play them, but parents are stupid enough to actually send angry Emails and messages to the people who sold or made the game because it was too offensive for their kids or gave them nightmares. What
did you think would happen?! If the rating description says something like "Blood and Gore" or "Strong Sexual Content," then the only people who are to blame are the parents! After Far Cry 3 came out, someone on the forum asked if it was suitable for their
