Why am I not receiving a code to sign into my Microsoft account?

First thing to do is to verify the email address. Please double-check that the email address associated with your Microsoft account is correct by going to https://account.microsoft.com>; Security. Kindly check from there the correct email address of the security information you have added to the account. If you have multiple email addresses, ensure you're using the one you're trying to log into.

And then check for Spam/Junk folders. Make sure to have thoroughly checked your spam or junk folders in Outlook for the verification code. If you find it there, mark it as "Not Spam" or "Safe Sender" to make sure future emails from Microsoft are delivered to your inbox.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly request the verification code from a different device because this can help rule out issues with your current device.

I received a code for £5 two days ago. I am not signed up to any Microsoft newsletter, a friend of mine also got it as well. I am not sure how or why exactly they are awarded. It was a nice gesture in my opinion.

On a couple of occasions over the past month, when signing into my Microsoft account on my Xbox I am signed in right after entering my password. I have 2FA set up for my account, and when logging in on other platforms I am asked for a code in addition to my password before I can sign in. This is how it had worked previously on Xbox as well, however I am now only sometimes prompted for a code.

I'm not sure if anyone has any ideas as to why this is.

I also have a problem with receiving the pistol skin. I logged into mixer, using the e-mail for the Microsoft account i had Sea of Theives on. However, the skin code was sent to a different Microsoft account. When I sign into Mixer using either e-mail, it
logs into the same account so I assumed I would receive the skin on the account I actually had the game. It was my first time using Mixer, and I don't know why my login would have been linked to a different account.

As the phone number will require a code to be received, you may need to use a mobile number. There is a possibility that the phone number could be added to multiple Microsoft account or else, you will have to restart your phone or wait for few hours. We would like to isolate your issue and ask for few questions:

• May we know if you have issues receiving codes or messages or notification from other online services?
  
• May we ask when did this issue happen? Also, in what game, device and what website this issue happen.
  
• Do you have antivirus, antimalware, VPN, firewall, proxy and PC Optimizer (or something like game accelerator) used in your device?
  
• Can we ask for a screenshot of the issue? Please conceal personal information like full name, email address and gamertag.
  
• Can we ask in what country/region are you residing? Please do not provide complete address.
  
• Also, is your Microsoft account match the same country/region?
  

Please try if this will help you receive your code:

1. Send yourself a text message. See if you can receive it.
   
2. Put your phone on airplane mode for at least two to three minutes and turn it off to see if you are receiving the codes.
   
3. Restart your phone. Wait if there are new messages that you will receive after doing so.
   
4. Try to add another phone number to see if this could be specific issue of your current number.
   
5. Contact your phone number provider to see if there is an issue in your area that could have cause this.
   
6. Lastly, you may wait for at least 48 - 72 hours before adding the same phone number to your account.
