    Hi, i have been dealing with a stolen account for 7 days now and not once have i been given the email stating that a 30 Day period has begun to recover the account. Im worried that my account is completely unrecoverable as i have been repeatedly locked out after signing in as well as having all of my info whenever i am logged in missing.

    I heard that there is a 30 day wait period before any info is changed after recovering the account but i am worried that the recovery "If this was you" emails are being sent to the thief and they are cancelling my period. If this is not occurring i would like to make a claim to completely recover the account in one move.

    We understand how much time and money you have invested for your account, and we are sorry to hear that the account was hacked. The only way to recover the account is by going through the meticulous account recovery process.

    Before we go any further, we'd like to set your correct expectations that Microsoft accounts are fully managed and processed by an automated server and we don't have manual access to it because Microsoft really takes your security and privacy very seriously and it would mean that the community support and live support channel can't do more than you can do for yourself with the account recovery process. We are unable to send password reset links or provide other means of accessing or changing account information.

    Here are the steps we can provide to help you recover your account:

    1. Before attempting to recover your account, make sure you use an alternate email that you have access to recover your account to receive feedback from Microsoft's automated system about the status of your account recovery.

    2. Click on the Microsoft Account Sign-in Helper Tool. Make sure you select the correct option from this list and follow the instructions exactly. This has helped many account holders recover their account. We hope this helps you too! It is also possible to contact live support through this tool. Below is the sample option that you must select:

    • Under Select how you normally sign in, select an option and enter your details. You can click on email address and type in the email address.
    • In the next button under Select continue below to see password reset and account recovery options, click Continue.
    • Select an option that describe your issue under Please select an option. (choose Account Hacked in your case).
    • On the next button, under Please select the reason why you think your account has been hacked, you can choose like Password stops working.
    • Next button will ask you Are you sure your username is correct, click Yes.
    • The next question will ask you Were you able to recover the account? there will be options presented and you can select like No access to phone/email. Please read the important notes before you proceed to the next instructions.
    • Under The next steps will show some essential guidance notes for using the form, click Continue. Read every detail before you proceed to the next steps.
    • Follow the next steps until you have fill out the Microsoft account recovery form and submit it.
    • Under Were you able to submit the recovery form, select Yes.
    • After submitting the form, you'll receive a confirmation email and receive feedback from Microsoft's automated system about the status of your account recovery within 24-48 hours. Please do not submit another form until you have heard back on the last submission. If you don't hear back in a few days, check your Junk or Spam folders.
    • If you are not able to recover your account this way, please note the account recovery Issue ID provided in the email, and then contact support by selecting the Chat icon on page of Microsoft account sign-in helper tool.

    Why am i not getting my security info update emails

    I have not requested to remove or add any info since my account was stolen

    It was hacked into and i was locked out as they removed my email and phone number from the account

    I recieve an error regarding my current password is invalid and rerouted to send an email to the email that took the account

    I do not have any notifications telling me how long i have left which is the reason why i am frustrated, i do NOT get a sign in message with that text, i only get it when trying to manually change the info myself after recovering the password.

    Based on the description, you have tried recovering the account and your account was locked out repeatedly. We understand that it is quite frustrating to get an account locked and we had to deal with the process of unlocking the account so that we can sign in back without any problems.

    We would like to ask few questions to help us understand and isolate the issue better.

    1. Have you requested to remove or add security information to your account?
    2. Can you tell us why you tried to recover your account? Was it locked or hacked
    3. What error message are you getting when you sign in your account?
    When you tried to sign in with your Microsoft account and you received a message that said: Your security info change is still pending or You can't access this site right now

    • You received this message because all the security info (such as alternate contact methods) that you previously added to your account was removed and replaced with new info and you need to wait 30-days for the changes to take effect. There are still things you may be able to do with your account, but in most cases, you won't be able to access any Microsoft site that asks for this security verification info.
    What you can and can't do during the pending request:

    • When all security info is removed from a Microsoft account, the account is put into a restricted state for 30-days.
    • While we understand this 30-day period might be frustrating, this is done to protect and alert you in case the security info was removed by someone who had unauthorized access to your account.
    • We'll send notifications during the 30-days to the original security info, which could be a phone number or email address. These notifications are sent to alert you that changes were made to your security info.
    • If you removed this security, you might have the option to cancel the request.

    Hi Klokkwork, do you have a source for that info? I have been using the Outlook.com email address for about a year, and I get all of my security codes sent to that email address. In fact, just now when on the phone with support, they sent a security code
    there. I am not doubting your intent, but want to make sure accurate info is out there for others.
