Why am I asked to give my son's account permission to run Netflix when using my own account?

Just wanted to add that in addition to this, the weekly report I got on my son's activities included all of my app and game use, played on my account but while his account was also logged in.

Unfortunately none of the ideas there is even remotely close to this.

I understand the potential issue, but as I said up front, the Xbox already asks for the PIN when I switch. That, though inconvenient, would cover the case when kids are switching account in order to try to get access to something they shouldn't have access
to.

The problem isn't there, but that the Xbox then requests to grant permissions to the child account, which is confusing, because that's precisely what I didn't want to do.

The expected behaviour would be for the Xbox to ask for a PIN when running the app or game, and if the account is switched back to the child account while the app is running, to ask for permission.

I just granted him access. It's no big deal, I just wanted to highlight the issue. What I really wanted was to report this to Microsoft as a bug, but had no idea how. I hope they're looking here.

A really good integration with Netflix would have allowed me to associate a Netflix profile with an Xbox account, but I don't expect I'd ever get that level of integration.

Edit: Turns out it's not just Netflix. Every time I run anything I need to give my son's account permission for it. I'll just grant him access to everything. It goes directly against the idea of a child account, but it's too much hassle to have to enter
my passkey every time I want to do anything.

Can you explain to me the logic behind this? Seems to me that even if two accounts are technically logged in, only one can be used at a time. Why not get the permission when the account which required it is switched to, rather than up front?

It would seem to me that although it's not strictly a bug, it's a problem with the design.

Its an online safety and privacy issue most likely. You may have to make adjustments in the family account settings.
