Why all the issues?

Why is it that now after Xbox live has been what it is for so long now that when the One launches we have all these issues with the one? From inviting friends to games, to party chat to showing a friend get online...and what game they are playing? All these
are so minor that should have been included with the one roll-out, or even the first update. Now, we are stuck with another update "April" for more progress. I know microsoft can do better than this...they know better...Not to mention I had one of the defective
X1's...

So far everyone Ive played against has been really cool, sometimes I will play the same person 6 or 7 times in a row winning some and losing some. If I can't beat someone I like to figure out new tactics to beat them. Great game

I'm one of the players you are describing, bro. I speak my mind. If I think you won off of luck, I'm going to tell you that. And if I win, I'm going to rub it in. If I own you in 5 turns, you are getting a message. If I lose off of the luck of the draw,
you are getting a message. And why? Because that's Xbox Live in a nutshell. And I'd be more than happy to tell that person IRL if I had the chance, but I don't collect these cards, or play in tournaments. Only thing I DON'T DO IS STALL. Because that's just
annoying. Trash talk, all the way. Stalling? I'm wasting your time and mine. I'd rather drown kittens.

 

Well, you think you have it bad. We cannot even send massages on the regular xbox. Did you know there is a daily limit to messages, and the limit is REALLY small. Then you have to wait 24 hours to send another. Not the next day, 24 HOURS. Xbox is really
dropping the ball. I pay for XBOX LIVE GOLD. There should be no limits to ANYTHING. Time to look into the competition. Microsoft pays more attention to non-important issues instead of, say, HACKERS RUINING GAMES LIKE CALL OF DUTY. I don't remember seeing
a warning of the games reading, MAY BE HACKED AT ANYTIME, BUYER BEWARE.

There will be an update this April that will improve many of the Xbox One's features. It is still a relatively new console, so keep in mind that it will take some time to work out the kinks. If you'd like more information on the April update, Polygon and
IGN have articles that go more in-depth. Notifications are being worked on.

 

If you already know about the features being updated, then I'm sure you also know about DirectX 12 being implemented into the console's system eventually. Microsoft will probaby have many other updates after April, but a lot of the abscences from the operating
system you're noticing are going to be patched in as soon as can be managed.

I was wondering the same thing, to be honest. There is a lot missing from settings, too. Hopefully they'll have everything in order soon.

 

update...after I got a new console since my first one was defective....I bought the extended service plan....for the new xbox...and it didnt show on my account that I had bought it...and microsoft had no indication that I paid for me...so I thought I was
going to end up getting the short end of the stick...however today they honored it and im good to go...

Awesome news. I am glad it's all been sorted for you! As Jyxa has stated, there is another update coming to improve even more stuff on the console and updates seem to be coming in quite frequently which is great too
