    Just some facts I am the responsible billing person, I authorized the original vbucks purchase through the xbox store. I have verified there is and was no issues with the xbox account as far as the money’s. So not a cc issue in fact it was an xbox
    gift card that was used and the remaining balance of the gift card still exists in the Xbox account.

    Lost skins and v-bucks according to Epic Games (part of their email support response):

    The issue is that a few days later, on 2/7/2019 we can see that Xbox support performed some actions on the account that indicate a refund was requested on their end.

    Whenever a refund is requested, meaning that the associated V-bucks are returned and in case they are not sufficient, the cosmetic items purchased with the same V-bucks are returned as well.

    To that end, since money that was spent to buy V-bucks (and with those V-bucks the NFL skin) were returned back to their owner as per his request, all associated actions were reset and this is why you cannot see the skin in (name redacted) account.

    Who is at fault? How do I get my money or skins/vbucks back?

    How do you get made whole?

    Neither company will take responsibility, nor will neither investigate it fully. They just point the finger at the other leaving the consumer [Mod Removed - Profanity] off!

    Based on my experience I would suggest every Fortnite user (that spends their hard earned money on it), that makes purchases via Xbox store (for Vbucks).
    Check their accounts and watch it carefully because I doubt I am the only one!

    I have asked both companies not to trust what I say but to verify it with their internal data.

    Thank you for your response.

    Sorry to hear the issue is still being persistent. Unfortunately, there seems to be a misunderstanding since I have read and understood your post and have responded as such. There wasn't a clarification as to which "Xbox Gift Card"
    was purchased and as such came about the response as posted. On
    Xbox.com
    there is an item for
    Xbox Gift Card
    which is a digital version of currency that could be purchased with a Credit card on the site or from the console store (Thus this could bring up the question if the "Xbox Gift card" was bought as a "physical code or
    digital code").


    Unfortunately, we here on the forums do not have the tools to contact Epic support on anyone's behalf. Also, sorry to hear that none of the information we have provided or suggested could be of use. As such, please contact
    Epic support so they may look to see if there was a Refund Request in-game or how they may further assist.

    Since there is no further resolution and in an effort to minimize repetitive answers we will be locking this thread, but if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to come back to the Xbox forum.

    Thanks for the reply but all of this I stated already and it is confirmed by Microsoft's reply to me in an email that no refund was issued , which matches the account on the Microsoft side, As far as tracking it through bank transactions that is not possible
    because in this instance it was a xbox gift card that was used stated in my opening paragraph

    If this was a credit card transaction, I would have just dealt with them with everything I have and still would have posted this as a PSA for other to see how this is handled.

    Xbox support which I have already contacted via chat and phone conversion and they basically told me tough , we don't have a refund issued it is an Epic issue and we won't contact Epic Games ( nice good looking out for your customers, needless to say I have
    been with xbox since the beginning).

    Like I have stated this looks to me to be some internal issue where I don't know.

    Thanks for the reply no that is not the case and based on Epic Games Support email to me the request was from Xbox Support. Fortnite returned items are done and tracked in Fortnite itself and they would have stated that and the vbucks would be in his
    account.

    Thank you for reaching out. I see you haven gone back and forth with EPIC and our Xbox Support to determine where your missing content/money is to no avail. Under your

    Order History
    , the 2,800 V-Bucks should appear along with the status of the purchase. If at any point it was returned, it would indicate so. Note, to initiate a refund through our system, the

    refund request form
    must be filled in. Here in the forums, we do not have the tools necessary to access your account and in detail explain what happened with the initial purchase, but depending on what is showing up on your order history, you can get an
    idea of where it all went down. If you did not attempt a return through Xbox Support, Epic Games would be your best bet as to how to get your content back. Let us know if you need any further clarification or help with what you see under your purchases. Cheers

    Thanks for the reply I have wasted many hours on the phone and chat with xbox support and emailing Epic Games Support back an forth to no avail. The fact is both companies are not willing to work with each other to sort this out. Like I have said before
    don't trust what I say but verify. In my opinion this is an issue between Microsoft and Epic Games not me.

    How do you ask for a refund from xbox that is not going to hit Epic again and then remove more items from my sons locker, based on Epic;'s reponse on how they take action. This needs an internal review between both companies and I can gladly give all the
    details to whomever has the capacity to discuss this.

    Hiya Misfit,

    Thank you for your response.

    Just as XBF Lance J has stated, try to check out your
    order history and see if the item was refunded/ Currency was applied back to the account.

    If the item shows as "refunded," then it was a refund through Xbox, and if it shows as a "Charged back" it was a refund from your banking institution (If the money was applied back to the account then just re-purchase the
    V-bucks
    ).

    If the purchase was completed Microsoft would not return the item/purchase unless the refund was user initiated through the Request form or contact the bank and see what information they have regarding this transaction.

    When V-bucks are refunded they will also take away any of the in-game purchases that where made as well to prevent Market place fraud. Epic applied this to stop Market place fraud because users used to get refunds after making purchases and the items would
    remain, but due to changes they have fixed that issue. Now when V-Bucks are refunded it will take the items that where bought with those v-bucks away.

    I recommend you contact your bank for more information on your purchases, and to also check your order history and to reach out to Xbox Support for more information on the Transaction(s).
