Who's ready for the "Xbox 2"?

Why would you want to buy another console after just 3 years, You may aswell buy a pc, and upgrade that. It would be better in the long run.

I, as a gamer and content to game on the Xbox, PS4, PC, and mobile. I get my gaming fix, wherever i can get it

 

The last thing I am ready for is spending another dime on a new system.

 

While I totally agree with SchroederRock 100% ( you are well spoken and not trolly by the way) and I would love for consoles to be able to do much more in regards to graphics, I#m okay waiting another year. In 2017 I'll be ready.

I quite often think of changing to PC, and if there were laptops that were way more powerful than this gen of consoles (there may be?) I would probably do it.

Release a console. evrery 3-4 years. won't. change. anything.....It will. cost. much. more. to build. and. for us. to. buy.It will be still oudated. at. launch and. devs won't. have. enought time to. develop. ,. release new games and. using. full. resources.

Better to. jump. directly into the. PC world,instead. of. buying. consoles.

Having "next-gen" consoles every. 6-10. years is. enought,no. need. of have a. 2nd PC world

 

Nope I'm quite happy with my Xboxone and the games I'm getting. Tapped out? Hardly. Most games are still using engines designed years ago. You will see big improvements not just from new tricks devs will learn over time from DX12 but new engines and middle
ware will keep improvements and optimisations coming for a lot of years to come.

 

Well spoken or not, the topic alone is a magnet for desperados. I think most people know that consoles need a few years to peak. If I wanted pretty graphics and disregarded substance I'd be gaming on either of my more powerful laptops or pc.

 

I just hope I at least get 4-5 more years out of my Xbox One and PS4, seemed like that last gen life cycle lasted forever and hoped this would last at least as long haha.

 

While a new one would be cool I wouldn't expect to see one for at least 3 years unless Sony forces their hand. MS have been really pushing the X1 lately.

 

Im with SchroederRock on this one, MS messed up massively with their hardware choice this time round thanks to previous management. xbox one is now maxed out and it's not going to get any better.

Ask yourself these questions. 1. Why would a company fire all its top management team and replace them? 2. Why do all 3rd party dev's manage to get more out of the PS4? and before anyone says Dev's don't understand xbox's coding system or are being lazy,
they are not! It's underpowered plain and simple.

 

Honestly, if you want more power/performance you only have pc as an option. Ive no doubt ms are already designing there next console, it may only be on paper at the moment but you can guarantee they are. Problem is, even when another console comes out, it
will already be outdated to modern pc hardware and this argument will start over.

I bought my first gaming pc earlier this year and it cost me......a lot. Am I glad I spent the money on it? Yeah, I love it BUT you have to be prepared to fork out the cash. Most people don't want or can't just fork out the amount of cash I did, and ms know
this. This is why you won't see another console from ms for a good few years, it just wouldn't sell enough for ms to get a good return on better more expensive hardware.

I got this point... from the very beginning. Not completely sure how you could've read my post and missed my comments that alluded to some of the cons of having 2 console systems on the market at the same time.

The Xbox 360 was supported beyond the release of the XB1 and people still purchased it. Don't believe me? Go look at the sales reporting on the console which was selling about 35-40% of the volume that the XB1
was selling in its first few months in 2013-2014.

No need to look for proof of something not being disputed.

It's not a "180" when you introduce two consoles that work 100% together with one being technically advanced and the other being an accessible product. You start with one. After a while, if you want to save the pennies,
you can jump to the next.

I believe that was Zero who used the term "180", but I don't really disagree... I can see how some would see it that way. Saying a console has a 10 year life span, then simply putting out a "technically advanced" version of it a few years later when,
historically, that hasn't happened prior... some will call a 180. Some may downright call it the 'next gen'.

Another con you didn't consider that I'll point out in regards to alienating customers. Two consoles that "work 100% together" cannot do so with one being technically advanced. While it's technically possible, one console will have an advantage over
the other when connected to XBL and playing MP games, unless very careful consideration is given to make sure that things like draw distance and fps are 'locked in' to a specified number that both consoles can achieve. Otherwise people will cry foul and point
the finger at the more advanced console for giving an unfair advantage in online MP and IMO, rightfully so.

I don't know about you, but when I play online MP, the last thing I'd want is to have the technically advanced console I paid more for to be dumbed down, so that it performs no differently than its more accessible counterpart.

If they take that into consideration and actually make efforts to level the playing field for both consoles to play together, then people will be asking themselves why they bothered to spend the extra $ on the more advanced console when they're forced
to play with settings that can be achieved by the lesser of the two. If they don't take it into consideration, they'll be alienating part of the player base.

 

I hope we can keep our Xbox One for a little longer then a view years.

First I wanna see how Xbox One and windows 10 PC games will work together.

Thats the more interesting part for me right now since I plan on getting a new PC.
