Who's getting FFXV?

Are you getting the game?

 

I should have been precise on which metacritic reviews I was referencing as BluSwirl pointed out. But really I'm just curious to see if my fellow gamers are getting/ gotten the game. Either Xbox One or PS4, after all it is a multiplatform game.

Metacritic XB1 - one review - 90

 

Suzy Lu, a youtuber, plays this game on PS4 Pro and she got PS4 Pro primarily for this game. I got a PS4 Pro primarily for this game too, but also got an Xbox version too, and since Xbox Scorpio won't be out for another year (sighs) and will be more expensive
than PS4 Pro (sighs). PS4 Pro version has higher visual fidelity too. Change resolution from default, lite, and high, and has HDR. The textures and resolution is better too, not just some upscaled 576p or 720p. But I got an Xbox version since Xbox is my primary
console brand platform.

I have noticed there is only 10 save slots available. What the ?!?! (well on PS4 Pro version). Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360 had 100 save slots, and Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns had 50 I think save slots. More save slots enable you to replay key
parts of the game you enjoyed. And since the stories to these games take more than 25 hours long, I find I enjoy a lot of areas in the game. As to Bluswirls comment, I'm here on the forums to have fun, though some take it more serious. I make typo's and am
not really careful of my spelling while on here. I like to see her correct Goth in terms of spelling kwazy. Again, there are those of us who come on here to have fun, and that's what Xbox is about, having fun, not being so serious XD. But I take that hyperventilator
comment, as a compliment (trying to make a positive out of a negative). That's what even my friends say when they say silly things 'I take it as a compliment' and then they end up saying the same thing 'take it as a compliment'. It even made me laugh.

 

Hello vikingland1, am glad that one Metacritic reviewer saw fit to show the XB1 version of FFXV some love It's a start, but you must remember that in the scheme of things - basically those all-important high score tables or leaderboards that establish
a title's credibility for life - the (PS4) version is currently sitting at #84 and will likely remain there for the rest of its days. The more pertinent question is not how *we* perceive the credibility (or otherwise) of the XB1 version, but how *you* feel
personally after waiting an eternity for it. Did it meet your expectations? Has it surpassed them?

In respect of its Metacritic rating, you do realize that all it takes is another three (3) middling or mixed reviews to send its "all-time" status plummeting, yes? Conversely, look at how Destiny: The Taken King has fared in its (XB1) lifetime - #9 for a
TOP TEN finish! Must be good, even legendary eh? Er, that's the thing about Metacritic: it seems to work better based upon a more robust database. A peek at where Destiny: TTK sits on the other platform perhaps reveals its 'true' status - #50 from a pool of
81 critics. Since there is a critical imbalance of raw data (eg, the XB1 average is derived from only 11 reviews), this means that Destiny: TTK does not truly deserve its podium finish. But hey, as smileskybird pointed out, this forum is for the FUNSTERS,
amirite? No time for beardstroking here - ugh!

In answer to your question: will I be buying FFXV anytime soon, the answer is No. Not because it's not critically lauded (note: it is), not because the XB1 version isn't good enough (note: it is), but basically because I could care less about its four leading
hollowmen (or boy band debutants). My focus is where it's always been: on the road less traveled or populated; where YOU as a titular presence will shape the outcome. Spoiled by the power of one agency in games like Dragon Age, Saints Row, Mass Effect (be
still my beating heart!) and the all-slaying Skyrim, there is simply no time or imperative to play FFXV. It's not my thing. But please do tell us how you get on. May all your games be good ones!

 

Um, hello, vikingland1? It's been seven days since I replied, and despite not owning FFXV I have nevertheless made a point of swinging by Metacritic on your behalf... because, hey, somebody's gotta do it!

It seems the XB1 version has reached critical mass (rofl) with a resounding FIVE reviews handed in, and now firmly establishing the game's stature in the "scheme of things". It seems to have reached parity with the Sony version - both achieving an 84 - even
though there's a marked discrepancy between the average number of reviews. While it certainly balances out in the end, you've gotta wonder why a paltry *two* XB1 reviews have tarnished an otherwise outstanding high score. Hmm... GO FIGURE?

 

These forums must be sooo bad even the moderators stay away from them. I have not seen a single moderator on here since the updated the forum. Maybe they want to keep the fun crowd on here. I literally spammed the activity feed with FFXV screenshots and
clips when this game came out. Well im a fan of the game and i like xbox, expect nothing less XD

 

I'll probably ask Santa.

And by that I mean I'll probably buy it used from a weird, hairy guy on Craigslist.

In news just to hand, there is now a SIXTH review for FFXV on the XB1! I repeat: a sixth review, and this has now *bumped* the game's credibility by ONE PERCENTAGE POINT [84 ->85]!! This is huge!! Why? Because if you mosey on over to the PS4 reviews section,
that version has actually *dropped* a percentage point [83<- 84], which means if you look at the game's "all-time" listing for PS4, it's now sitting at #105! WHOA! This is a huge upset for the fans!!

But wait, there's more! O_O If you go searching for FFXV's position in the Xbox One "all-time" listings, IT ISN'T EVEN THERE!!! Wut? That's right, if you look at every other game that scored 85, you'll find there's six [eg, 41. Firewatch -> 46. Pro Evolution
Soccer 2016], but FFXV is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!! What's going on? Vikingland1, you seriously need to check this out.

Not more than twelve hours ago I reached out to vikingland1, and believe it or not, I was *not* trying to be a smart aleck by continually nitpicking his game of choice. While there are a great many who still 'beliebe' in the broforce, the numbers don't lie.
It's not exactly a game of this generation - much less any other - and we now finally have an "all-time high" listing for Xbox One. It's sitting at #76 (while subsequently dropping to a Metacritic 82 from yesterday's 85). Altogether now... #JUST BREATHE

Yeah , imagine that , I've got 59 hrs in the game and enjoying it very much. I can honestly say the side quests could be better , but I do like the hunts for making Gil. And my crew are growing on me. Yeah I'm having fun with this game.

My aim? Was to talk about a game that I was looking forward to , that also happens to be a multi platform game.

OFFICIAL XBOX FORUMS/ General discussion, no offence ment. My 27 , 28 , & 29 yr old kids all have XB1's so it's not like what you think. I've been coming to these forums for years and I feel like I'm part of a community . But seeing the errors of my ways
