It was a lot easier to sort things out back then on the Original Xbox.

Game developement time can't last forever, so it is indeed a daunting task for game developers to take out the issues / problems with the games before the game is released.

Some games are too big in scale, making finding issues / problems even more difficult than it already is.

I finally got around to playing it today both on my Xbox 1 and my (Genchy may not want to read this.... desktop PC.

The PC version, since I have an SSD, load times are half of that on Xbox 1, and is has ultra settings. I tried that and there is definitely better looking graphics but it's not like a DRASTICALLY big graphic performance. Better aliasing and textures though....
and loading times.

I've also been spamming the Activity Feed today with screenshots and video clips of Star Trek Online. Finally got around to playing it today. I know others use the Activity Feed A LOT. I don't really tend to, unless there are games which I'm very interested
in. Even several of my friends put up regular screenshots and clips.

But the game I really like.

 

Regarding patches/fixes

It seems to be the normal these days. I guess the people who test the games just haven't got the time to find every bug, well they could hold the game back but like mentioned here, we would be looking at major delays. So they release the games and it's like
they use us the gamers as the testers.

Thankfully there's not been many games I've played this gen that have had game breaking issues but there have been a few. A few games I've purchased from Milestone have had major issues, corrupt saves, constant freezing when playing a particular mode, surely
the devs couldn't have missed these problems? Again release the game, fix it later attitude.

As for ReCore. Like Az said, I've got such a back catologue of games it's crazy and that's not counting the games to be released soon, Forza Horizon, XCOM 2. ... .... .... ....

I will get back to it at some point, about 10 extra hours in the day would be nice lol

 

Really enjoying recore it has certain charm to it, its definitely worth giving it ago.

Not that it's gonna matter in the short term - like a conscientious Xbox "student", I am actually cramming to have the game finished by Friday (before Forza H3 lands on my doorstep), although I do fear I'm gonna fail the test.

I've reached the Shifting Sands and added a third companion corebot (Duncan) to my roster, but the party grid clearly shows FIVE. Since I'm not exactly rushing the game - except for those instances which require it (like challenge rooms where you must finish
within a strict time limit, usually five minutes) - I'd like to spend as much as time as possible unlocking the world map.

A game this good comes along only ONCE PER YEAR, so am afraid it's competing for my time against every other must-play before Christmas. This is no way to treat ReCore... so yeah, I might have to alternate play between this and Forza!

I do fear it's gonna take more than improved loading times to remove the *BUGS THAT I MOST DEFINITELY HAVE ENCOUNTERED*!!! In fact, I'm almost at the point where my "love" for it has soured completely! Why? Because I ran into a boss's den (Elder Alarum)
and he's clearly too tough for me at this stage! When I go to extract his core, he sends his little SWARMBOTS to knock me out of the animation stance and then raises his shield again, and the process to whittle him down begins all over again!!! >.<

I looked at some YouTube clips and they don't seem to have a problem extracting his core, and although I've had no trouble with other bosses, am pretty sure this one's glitching out on me! All I can do is try backtracking out of the den, and leveling up
some more, but maybe the path behind me has closed?!

If I *can't* defeat him, then it looks like I'm gonna be rage quitting and welcoming Forza H3 with open arms! HOW DARE THEY DO THIS TO ME!!!!

 

The only issue i'm having with the game is I stopped playing for a few days and have no idea where i've got to go now!!! Grrr.

 

The graphics are good, the main character is pretty, the robots are cool, I haven't experienced any bugs yet but am only up to that iron spider boss battle. I know my PC which has an SSD loads this game in half the time Xbox 1 takes, no surprise there since
SSD's are much more efficient than the 5400rpm HDD that is on everyone's Xbox 1 console. But the camera controls I find, on the PC version, are worser than the Xbox 1, it's like the camera can't keep up with my movements.

This game is part of Microsoft's "Xbox Play Anywhere". I have a laptop and a desktop PC. I contacted Xbox Support about this. They told me my license is NOT restricted to just one PC. Xbox Support confirmed to me that I can install any game a part of the
Xbox Play Anywhere, and play it, on both my desktop and HP 15' thin white laptop which has a 6th gen i5 processor. I use my laptop for everyday use, and my desktop which can play 2015/2016 games on maxed settings in 1080p with smooth frame rate. I agree the
load times are a joke on Xbox 1, but if you have a PC with an SSD, the load time is much quicker.

However, in my case at least it's TOO LITTLE TOO LATE, because I was racing to have the game "finished" by Friday, September 23, however due to the aforementioned boss (located in The Warren), who has evidently glitched my progress - and believe me, I've
tried and tried again to no avail - this means I'm gonna have to leave Joule *in stasis* on the planet of Far Eden, until such time as I can be bothered helping to resume her quest

I've actually reinstalled the 5.4GB update, hoping it might kickstart the problematic algorithm, but time is running out. I have less than ONE DAY left before Forza Horizon 3, a game that is obviously state of the art and GLITCH-FREE. Whether or not you
place any credence in score aggregate sites like Metacritic, the sorry fact remains:

There's a reason why the world's reviewers gave ReCore a "mixed or average" score of 63. It's because ReCore tripped on its own feet. Disclaimer: I still <3 the game, but unfortunately cannot divide my loyalties between an "also-ran" and a clear winner (Metacritic
91) like Forza Horizon 3.

I can't wait for Forza Horizon 3 too. The Demo is now out on the Dashboard, and it's a lot of fun, and the graphcs look stunning, and I mean stunning. I remember what Halo MCC was like too. Broken multiplayer after Launch, and at least 2x 15GB Updates during
the 1st year which Halo MCC was out. Forza Horizon 3 is like the first Forza Horizon where Americans will be driving on OUR side of the road (the left, if I drove on the right, anyone would think I was high).

 

Umm, smileskybird? The funny thing is: yes, the game is set in Australia and yes, there are right-hand drive vehicles, but... the starter car that I used (BMW) was LEFT-HAND drive! So basically, what does it mean if you're driving on whichever side of the
road, because if you play any driving game using any number of left-hand drive vehicles, where is the point of difference? The vanishing point??

Btw, I'm asking because I do not know the answer. Except that I always prefer driving on the left (?) side of the road, so... yes, that is a conundrum.
