Who's enjoying Recore??

First off I've got completely hooked on another game for the last few days and it would be hard for any other game to pull me away while I enjoy that but I did give ReCore a go this morning

To be fair I only played for around 45 minutes so no doubt the game has a lot more to reveal but have to be honest, I was getting bored after about 15-20 minutes. It looks amazing, plays smoothly but it hasn't grabbed me. Again, where I'm enjoying another
game I really wanted to get back to that so that didn't help and I hope with more time I'll enjoy it more but I think I'll come back to this at a later time, no urge to get back on it now.

Also, no bugs to report. Loading times seemed fine etc

Dang troll, I've been "enjoying BF3" since it first came out, almost 2 years ago. You are just a sad person who's butthurt got the best them. Sucks to be you, friend.

 

@Old Lofty: Any particular reason you've decided NOT to tell us the name of "another game" that's taken up your time?

For my money, and I have spent *a lot* on ReCore (Collector's Edition is possibly the biggest LOOT CRATE I've ever had to allocate space for), this one continues to get better! It's all about the *feedback* loop... whether it's the sheer joy of locomotion,
the pew-pew of Joule's rifle, the RNG of the loot drops, the combo-fueled frenzy of boss fights (I'm now finding a rhythm to extracting cores) or the hub world which feeds back into the exploration loop, this game certainly builds upon its Metroidvania heritage.

And a quick heads up for beginners: It's best to follow the story path until you reach 'The Cradle', because then you hook up with Seth, the spiderbot, who becomes invaluable for scaling surfaces! Even better is crafting new armor for them - if you find
all the pieces to a set, you get stat bonuses (eg, I've outfitted Mack with the Blue Salty Dog set for 50% shield recharge rate). And don't forget to pick up ANYTHING you can find - it's all grindable for better gear *and* you can break down components to
modify your armor.

ReCore is one truly ADDICTIVE game! <3

 

i havent started it yet as my hauppauge hd pvr2 is playing up. Hopefully i should get it working this weekend or next week as i want to do a youtube video of it!

Again to be fair to ReCore, I never like having too many games on the go at once. So when I've finished with these ill give ReCore more time and hopefully enjoy it a lot more!

I sort of agree with you, but now a days it's nearly impossible to release a game bug free that won't need patches. If we waited for games like Skyrim and Fallout or Dragon Age or GTA etc etc to be released bug free where they wouldn't need patches, we might
never get to play them. Games are not little like they were during PS2 error or any error before then. In older gens if you did get a game breaking bug you were sold. At least no we can get patches.

I'd rather get a game after 3 years of development and need a day 1 patch rather than wait 3.5 years or longer to play it. It's not like I'm gonna say "no I refuse to download a patch that takes 2 minutes because this game shouldn't need one. Please release
it in another 6 months."

I think saying they shouldn't release games that don't require patches isn't relevant anymore. It's just not possible for most games these days.

I know that making a game is difficult, but I do wish that patches for serious game issues were employed faster before that games's community gets really aggrevated and abandons the game.

Pre internet I can't remember the need for patches in gaining. They should be an emergency measure not standard procedure.

 

One of my friends picked this up and she's loving it so much.

Like Lofty I have a PS 4 backlog to play through myself and it's a much more economic way to go about enjoying great new games (picked up when they're at least new for the person playing them).

I know that I'm young, but I remember Original Xbox games being almost bug / glitch free compared to the games that are released today, even when patched.
