That will only be possible if someone else doesn't own that Gamertag.

If someone does, then nothing can be done about. If the gamertag is inactive you'll have to wait for the general reset like everyone else.

As of last year if a gamertag does not sign in for 5 years it is then made available.

That's the same for everyone,no matter how long you've been with xbox.

I was actually thinking about this the other day and I feel like the reason there wouldn't be a console for BL2 would be cause the game is multi platform. Yeah, I'm aware MW3 had its own console, but MS does have some exclusivity deal with Activision so

It would be really cool but my Halo Reach console is still going strong and if the rumors are true about a new console next year im gonna hold off buying a new 360.
