Who decides which games become backwards compatible?

Example: Metal Gear Solid: GZ was free for xbox 360 and Backward compatible, MGSV: TPP was made available for 360 owners also, yet it isn't on the list of games downloadable to the xbone after purchase on the 360! Who makes these decisions as to which
games make the list?

Voting a game into the backward compatible eligibility Not effective. Following through on market pitches, that's what should matter!

Half life 2(not the orange box) playable with xbox one?

I would post this question at the game developer's forums for in the end it's them who decide if a game should be run under the backward emulator (and by the way they decide which version of the game that should be as well)

This isn't really the place to suggest backwards compatible titles. Make sure that you vote for the game to be backwards compatible on the Xbox Uservoice site.

Other than that, it's up to the developers of the game to decide whether or not the game becomes backwards compatible.

Would be the same outcome, you will need to reach out to the publishers/developers for any game to become backward compatible. As they are the ones to decide if it becomes backward compatible.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. The game would need to become backward compatible in order to play on the Xbox one. The developers of the game would be the ones to message for this, as they are the deciding factor as to what becomes backward
compatible.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. With any game developers are responsible for determining if their game and content becomes backward compatible. As mentioned you will need to message the developer to show your interest in this.

There is no date for it to become backward compatible it is up to the developer unfortunately. Also any backward compatible games there is no date. Microsoft decides when to release them to the public.
