Who decided who got the July $75 promotion?

I have been an XBL Gold member for 11 years. In that time I have purchased 3 XBox 360s and had 3 RROD on me. I have played well over 100 games in that time, almost all purchased new. I actively suport XBLA titles and DLC. Last month I learned that MS was
offering a $75 incentive to select XBL account holders that could be redeemed if an XBox One was purchased and connected to XBL before 7/31. I didn't receive this notification, but as a loyal customer, I purchased an XB1. Soon after I contacted support and
asked if I should expect to receive the promo voucher and was told I would be receiving a message shortly that would provide me with the $75 voucher for XBL content (reference number [Mod removed]). I never received this message and in chat
today I was told that I would not be.

I am just curious what a customer had to do to be worthy of this offer, as I am apparently not. Was there some solid gold console for sale that I did not purchase?

Nobody will answer the question and I keep getting pushed from person to person. I keep getting told that it is "random," which is obvious BS.

20+ free* games since the XB1 launch!

I got Destiny free as part of that promotion this past July, for anyone who bought and activated a new console. The gave me $75 in MS money, which I used on Destiny. That also brought the price of my console down to $325.00

I've also enjoyed the games from EA Access. Peggle 2 and PvZ: GW are fantastic games.

Yep, I got one last night. And I was playing online with a friend who also bought a Bone in July, and he got it as well. Money for Destiny!

Then if it was based on loyalty, why didn`t you get the $75??

You didn`t get it because its random, and you were not chosen.

 

They id something similar to this where they gave random users who were with XBL for 10 years. But it was random, not all people with XBL won.

Sorry to hear you didn't win, maybe they'll host some cool contest like this in the future.
