White Xbox One Release-Rumor

Seems I cannot quote, but anyway 500Gb was deemed too small at launch but consensus was that it was more than enough. If this rumour is true then clearly it wasn't enough.

The 360 HDD evolution was mainly down to cost 20Gb- 320Gb over the years but PLEASE - The difference between a 500Gb HDDand a 1Tb is negligible now.

IMHO the One should have had a 1Tb at launch and this rumour confirms it,

 

At this point this is just a rumor. Having a console without a DD is suicide IMO.

You mean having a separate sku without a optic drive is suicide?? I disagree, I bet there are a lot of people who have not even used (or have barely used) the optic drive on the current console....

Either way, I am looking forward to an external (portable) 2-3 TB usb 3.0 drive....this way when I go visit friends/family I can bring all my games with me easily.

 

I am happy with my black version, however, considering it is a day one edition I do feel they could have put the same "day one 2013" logo that is on the controller on the xbox itself. Like how the dev team got the "I made this" on their white versions.

Without a DD how does one rent games? Or play CD/DVD/Blu-Ray? I think there is a niche for it but by doing so this will exclude customers and IMHO that is bad business. I guess not a huge deal as long as they offer one with a DD.

if the rumor is true about a disc less XB1... something tells me a family plan will be back by then.... that would be a HUGE selling point....

An expansion on this comment will be interesting. Considering that the changes they made from their original ideas of no discs and DRM probably doubled their audience.

 

Dear God, you would think after all that happened ~6 months ago people would calm down when it comes to Xbox rumors.

I hated the white Xbox 360... couldn't wait to get my hands on an Elite and then a 360s. Of course I wanted them for more reasons than just the color, but I actually didn't hold off as long to get them, because they weren't white. I wish we had more color
options available on launch consoles. Would be nice to have a few choices. In any case, I still don't see any reason for me to want to run out and spend another $500 just to have the latest. Even if I could afford to do it.

I would never buy a driveless console. But I would like to upgrade the hdd to 1tb. Do you think that you could sent your xbox 1 to ms they would upgrade it?

 

I read a couple of the rumors. Here are the ones that interest me:

1. Titanfall themed One

2. A cheaper model. Whether that be without Kinect or the optical drive as the rumor says.

I am uninterested in Kinect really. And that adds to the price. But the physical drive is unimportant to me in this device. My other Blu-ray devices do fine. So if they decide to cut that I will just live with the Kinect at that point as it would fall
in line with the price I would have paid for the device without it. At that point I would have $400 in the unit with a free Kinect (sure, not really but like I said I felt $400 was fine without Kinect).

But, as much as I like physical I have a lot of digital stuff. Any more only the rare game is a must in physical. Mass Effect was a physical only game for me with collector's editions. I would still like to see these collector's editions with the dl code
in the box. That would be cool.

As for the Titanfall themed One if it happened I would have to purchase. I am getting a One for myself at some point for my personal use and that would be it. As long as it looked nice that is. And if they took the drive out of that One then I would be
fine as well.

Hopefully we get some official news from MS soon.
