White screen when console startup

I'm sorry to hear your son is experiencing issues signing in.

Could you give this a try?

- Remove your account by going to Settings > Account > Remove Accounts

- Press the Xbox button to open the guide, go to the Profile & system tab > Add or switch > Add new > and sign back into your account.

- Go to Settings > Account > Sign-in, security & passkey > Change my sign-in & security preferences > and disable password/passkey requirements to sign in. You can also select "No barriers" as your sign-in preference.

** If the white screen is coming up on multiple profiles, please repeat these steps of each of them.

• If the previous steps don't work, please try a soft factory reset.

To do this:

- Turn your console off.

- Unplug all external storage units from the console's USB ports.

- Turn your console on.

- Go to Settings > System > Console Info > Reset console > Keep games and apps.

Just keep in mind you will need an internet connection and your account details (email and password) to complete this process.

* Resetting your console to its factory defaults erases all accounts, saved games, settings, and home Xbox associations. Anything not synchronized with Xbox Live will be lost. If your console has been constantly connected to the internet and Xbox Live services, your saved data should be backed up on the cloud.

Try booting with the controller the console while pressing and holding sync button on the front of the console (black square above usb ports on S and round white small button on classic 360). This will clear any failed, incomplete or corrupted updates. When
the console gets to the startup screen it should initiate an update is required and with any luck this should correct the problem.

When you attempt yo powwr on the console, does it light up and make the startup chime, or is it literally doing nothing at all? Could be a power supply issue

Yes it powers up absolute fine, it gets to a screen with "Preparing console... please wait" with a white background, and then goes to the error message 'E101'.

The controller won't connect unless the console turns on. The console shows white, but it doesn't show on the screen or allows the controller to connect. A few times I've let it run for 15 minutes just to see if it needs time to boot up. As I mentioned,
after a few times of resetting it will startup, but it can take half an hour.

It always makes the right sounds, the ding occurs when I hold the power and eject symbol. I touch the white logo when it's on and it makes the power down sound (but never turns off). I touch it to turn it on and it makes the power on sound, all things show
white but it seems to not startup. It can't be a display issue because it displayed fine before and every 10 to 15 times I do rest it, it starts up fine.

Usually, the power light flashes when you try to bind a new wireless controller to the console or shortly during startup/shutdown of the console.

Does the console start completely to the Home Screen, or is the console not starting at all when the power light flashes?
