so this is what happens when you can't sign in to your account. Your very expensive Xbox one becomes a white plastic brick. Microsoft now has me seriously considering switching platforms. This white plastic brick is absolutely useless unless you can sign
in to your account. I've made the irrevocably poor choice of buying all my games and content digitally, effectively preventing me from using my purchased content when they have issues preventing me from signing in to my account. So absolutely frustrated with
them and their service right now. Does anyone know if PlayStation or Nintendo have this same issue, or are their systems actually usable?

I had the same issue- Even though I was able to sign in on other profiles, I couldn't sign in on my main account. No issues with network/connectivity, and a standard power-cycling of the unit didn't work either.

What finally DID work was when I did factory reset(keeping games and apps). I had to go through all of the initial set-up stuff, but after that I was able to sign in without issue.

 

Is there an error message when you try and sign into your account?

If so what does the error message say?

Is it a matter of you have just forgotten your password? if so try and recover your account @ account.live.com/ACSR

 

I'm very close to switching platforms as well. Basically the only game that I wouldn't have access to is Halo, and honestly halo has gone down the hole recently.
