White controller faulty. MS can't guarantee I'll get a white one back?

Bought the sunset bundle the other day and the controller has an iffy x button, which is getting worse. Asked the retailer about replacing it, but they wanted the whole package back which wasn't an option as I am mostly digital now and spent an age downloading
all my games (this is my second xbox one)

Called MS here in the U.K and am not happy that they can't send a replacement and take mine away when that one arrives. But it's ridiculous that they can't guarantee I'll get a white one back. There must be ones set aside, or they could strip out mine and
replace the innards?

Agree with some posts here though that the build quality seems poor with the one console as this is my third faulty pad in the last 12 months.

White controller

i have the white console bundle with sunset overdrive and a single white controller.

I would love to be able to buy a second one matching the bundled controller but i aint able to because m$ is being idiotic as ever.

Im gonna sell my single white one and get myself 2 matching blacks...

Controller Drifting

The controller drift issue does typically require the controller to be replaced and unless still under warranty it is the responsibility of the user. You can do a quick Google search for white controller and you will get a number of links. Here is one

Sorry to hear it. I would recommend exchanging the whole package but here's a little info that may make it easier for you.

Get a USB 3.0 hard drive that ranges in size from 256GB to 16TB and move the digital content to the hard drive. Then clear all the data off the internal drive of the console and return it for an exchange. When you get the new console you can just plug
the hard drive into and and have instant access to all your digital games after a brief license transfer.

Well sadly spending money wasn't an option at the moment in order to get an external hard drive. Plus the store didn't have any white bundles left. Had to cave and send in the pad. But it's a really poor show that MS can't guarantee a true replacement.

TRAGICTACTICS

Controller is not that old. Bought it back whenever the white elite controllers released. And yeah the charge kit works on other controllers but wont work on the white elite one

Nope, I never get a white light at all. It stays solid orange, and the second I plug it into the console, it fades out. I'll have to just take it into the MS store. I can't afford to order a new brick right now.
