    All updates have been done so the update thing obviously didn't work for me...

    It makes the noise all the time...no matter what activity I'm doing! It even makes the noise when the console IS OFF!!! Only unplugging the console will stop the dreadful noise!

    It first started a month after I got the system, but only did it while watching DVDS or BLURAY. Then it slowly progressed and now it does it while playing games, idle on dashboard and EVEN WHEN ITS OFF as of today!

    My system is only 6 months old. I bought at the very end of March. What am I supposed to do with this annoying piece of crap? Can I take it to gamestop to switch out since I bought their stupid 2 year plan?

    Also whats going to happen to all the games etc I have saved to the hard drive currently if I do have to change out the system?

    Xbox One making strange high pitched noises

    I have an Xbox One that is making strange high pitched (beeping sort of, sounds sort of like a malfunctioning fire alarm) noises during an update. I haven't updated nor used the console in a while... I have heard the "high pitched whirring" noises coming
    from my Xbox but this sounds different. Is it just my Xbox updating or do I have an issue with it?

    Clicking noise?

    I have my Xbox One on Standby but I don't hear the clicking noise. I can only hear a high pitched fan noise coming form the power brick.

    Hey mate,

    I'd take it back to gamespot, they should switch it out for you especially if you paid for a 2 year warranty.

    The games will be wiped from the console, however are saved to your gamertag, so they will be reinstalled when you log on to your new console. You won't lose anything, you'll just need to redownload it all. Just make sure you've signed into Live, so that
    everything has synced to your online profile before you take it in.

    On my second Xbox One at the moment.. The first one made an extremely high-pitched noise that could be heard from across the room. Once I received my replacement from Gamestop, the new console was completely silent ... For the first week and a half. Now
    the new console makes a similar high-pitched noise that can be heard from across the room.. I can put a game case over the One's main vent, and the sound won't be heard at all... But obviously, I don't want to do that and risk overheating. The worst part is..
    the new console even freezes during gameplay. (Not too frequent, however).

    So yeah, my Xbox makes that noise as well, something that shouldn't happen.
