which perk is better

^^Which one? Off the Grid or Focus? Focus is very important in every gunfight, which is more important than staying off the minimap IMHO.

 

I tried wiretap on hc, and it doesnt work, as foomberry stated. At least it doesnt activate your minimap. I wasnt ever sure if both our teams had satcoms out at the same time to tell if it would work once you or your team activated it with their own.

Probably wont use it any more since that was my main goal. I dont even know that you can bring up a map in-game in this. I havent found a way. In previous releases you could bring it up just by hitting the back button. I remember I think in blops, if you
were running sitrep in hc mode, you could bring up a map and it would show you enemy equipement. Thats how I got my sentry gun kills, by bringing up ythe map, spotting the huighlighted sentry and plotting a course to get to the back side of it.

 

My apologies. I meant Focus. Staying off the map is important and all, but I generally do fine without it.

 

I'm thinking of trading in Off the Grid as I'm sure most enemies don't even look at their mini map (from my observations).

Most, if not all then. You can be blasting your gun off like nobodies business showing up on the radar like New Years and they still will not be aware... So yes the community is extremely dumb, Bundy dumb in fact.

 

^^Nah, I think the (better players especially) still chase red dots around the mini map. I tried Ping out last night and it was pretty good. I have been using the Damage perk too (that cost 5 points) and using the Specialist streaks. Still looking for those
best combos for Specialist.

 

Maybe New Zealand has a bunch of noobs. There are people who follow red dots but then there's people who don't even see it. TDM is full of noobs by far. I'll be shooting my gun all over the place and the guy that I'm chasing doesn't even know I'm behind
him. Noobs, honestly.

 

I think the minimap is harder to see than in previous releases. I remember when the game first came out, there were a bunch of posts asking why they moved it even though its the same place as always.

And the way satcoms work, it only gives

you a limited map unless there are multiple satcoms out. ...... not even sure how the system works. But I was playing some hc trying out wiretap, and when we had a satcom, I could hear weapons firing a lot, but saw no red dots at all.



Personally, I've never been able to take full advantage of them and frequenty find they cause me more harm than good. To really focus on it means I have to switch eyes. During that period I lose track of everything for a split second and often wind up
getting shot by an enemy who should have been in plain view.



I also know ( because I doi it myself) that its fairly easy to lure people into false confidence, or an outright trap. If I'm running an anti-radar type perk, I generally stay away from my team and kind of use them as bait or distraction.

About the only good the minimap does for me is give me something to reference, as far as basic direction stuff is going on.

 

Sat-Coms are different now (than UAVs). If you or your team only have one Sat-Com out, the com doesnt work too much like a UAV. Any enemy you "SEE" will show on the mini map. I dunno if it works for teammates too? If they see someone will that enemy show
up, when you have a com out? I do know multiple coms makes an Advanced UAV effect.

 

@Defy - Could be. I guess we're in the same boat.

@Uneasy - Obviously the better players will be aware and chase the dots, I'm not ruling them out, they just seem very few and far between.

 

Off the Grid. FREE.

 

i have been trying focus perk but i don't really notice much difference when shooting considering all these jump and drop shotters

where as off the grid and the one that covers you from oracle systems really help

but it depends on which game mode you play tdm kill confirmed may be better with off the grid

where as domination obj type games focus is more important

 

Focus was really effective in the beginning, but the nerf to it toned it right down. Jumpers and drop shotters can pose an issue sometimes and I often find them humorously ridiculous, especially jumpers.

I at least see an enemy oracle a couple times a match.
