2. Well, I'm stuck out in the country with an evil, despotic ISP: AT&T... Which Internet speed is recommended? :(

That's what I mean, I'm in the country too, I was surprised we were getting fibre, the South of the town has it already, the speeds are amazing, I have seen a few friends BB speeds, really fast for where we are.

Which Internet speed is recommended?

I'm in the UK, I would recommend speeds of at least 4Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up, but I am greedy and I have BT Infinity option 2 so I get fibre at 76Mbps down (actual throughput I get is 72Mbps) and 19Mbps up (actual throughput I get is 16Mbps up) and I have
the unlimited use package with no fair usage policy - costs me like £26 per month but I do get free phone calls with the line rental of £15.99 a month.

But are you guys reading these results while everything with wifi is on or are only supplied with certain peaks on your Internet plan? If that makes sense.?

I have done a few speed tests, from just a laptop on, up to a max of two laptops, 3 Xbox 360s and an Xbox One and a Kindle, 8 down would just about be enough with all running basically, but problems arrived with multiple streaming, and with the Xbox One
updating ? Well, it eats it up. Can't wait for fibre.

If you have to used wifi, you might consider getting power line converters. You plug them into an outlet near your router and near the device you want to connect. the range is like 1500ft and you get up 500MB between your router and device, depending on
the converter. I have them running to my Xbox and PC and they are fantastic. Cost $60-70 for the pair. I bought 1 with 1 ethernet port for near the router and another with 3 ports for near my Xbox. I stream from my laptop when directly connect to my router
without issue. Plus you are getting the fastest speed to your Xbox without running new ethernet cable.

Actualu soul.... it has nothing to do with how a game plays.. I could have Google fiber speed... 10000MB/5000 but if my ping is 350Ms, a guy with 3/1.5 with a ping of .010Ms will beat me EVERYTIME

the speed is only good for streaming and downloading games, not game play

Yep,its all about the ping ..Thats why TF gives you all those different locations and numbers ..I live in the northeast (USA)but ALWAYS have lower ping to the south ,so i play with the southerners ..

11. From what I gather , fast internet is only useful for non gaming things ...

As Billy-bob the bootlegging moonshiner , with 250 k satellite internet... will #### up your lobby anyway....lolz.

My inernet speeds are 20x faster than my friends .. so updates and d/lds are much faster ... in multiplayer .. we are ,,, pretty much even.

12. I have Comcast and they recently increased their Blast customer from 50 to 100mbps. I did the detailed network stats in the setting on the Xbox One and it came back that my download speed was 120mbps and my upload speed was 11.50 mbps. That's pretty fast
if you ask me. Plus, if your doing gaming it's always better to have your consoles or computer hard wired to your modem/router. A direct connection is always better.

Multiplayer doesn't actually use a lot of bandwidth is the funny thing. If you're in a party with 4+ people talking that is probably using more than the game is. I would say to be able to stream a movie, video chat, have multiple people browsing the internet
20-25Mbs which is 2 megabytes to 3 megabytes a second which is a decent amount of bandwidth is enough. Not sure why, but when I do download games, DLC, patches I can never really get more than a couple megabytes per second from Live. Steam is great though
can normally get 5-15 easily.

Then like others have said latency is really the biggest thing for responsive multiplayer. After that you really want to make sure QoS on your router has your One or other other console you're gaming on as the highest priority. Having a lot of bandwidth
is useless if your router makes game packets wait behind ones that latency isn't an issue for.

I just downgraded to 25/5. Ehhh it's just fine but I do hope to get back to my 80/30 days. The WiFi takes a hit a bit but I will do fine.
Which is great but we usually have our tablets on or phone wifi.
None of which should be able to max out your 90Mbit connection.
30Mbit if you're viewing videos on an ISP that doesn't throttle Netflix and you want to do other things.

Ideally, pick up a router that lets you monitor bandwidth usage in real time. Most modern day routers also feature QoS options that let you prioritize traffic from one or more devices.
