    Hello I have just purchased a turtle beach earforce X12 headset f playing off of a moniter, I am disappointed that it does not do what I expected it to, play games and hear both game audio through "speakers" and hear party chat and game chat through the
    same output. I can only hear party chat if I change the setting to speakers which is dissapointing so I am wondering if I have hooked things up wrong or this headset is not viable for my use, and if it isn't what headset CAN I use the will be fit for a montior
    to play on. Thank you for readibg and possibly responding

    which headset to buy?

    im in a perdicament here.... i currently own a steelseries 5xb headset. and right now the audiomixer is causing my headset to shut off whenever the wire in the back of the audiomixer shifts even a hair. now should i buy a new audiomixer for $50, or buy a
    turtlebeach earforce x12 headset for $60?

    i read from some people that the mic on the x12's pick up backround noise and sometimes cause static? that has me a little nervous

    im leaning towards a new audiomixer but thought i'd get my fellow gamers' comments

    Oh ok i get it now, got confused at first but now i realise you would not need mic monitoring on if your not talking any way so that makes sense.

    Now i can't decide which headset to go with though, i was going to get the x12 but then i was thinking if i should just save a bit more money up and get the tritton ax720 or turtle beach x41 as they have 5.1 surround sound which i'm guessing makes game sound
    better.

    I was thinking of maybe getting the turtle beach DSS if i bought the x12 but if i'm going to end up doing that i might as well just get a surround sound headset in the first place.

    As a side note the green audio jack is plugged into the monitor directly, use to my computer, and 2.5 mm jack going to the Xb audio controller adapter

    I've had the TurtleBeach X11's for almost a year now and they are the best headset I've ever had for the xbox. One of my buddies had the x12 and remember him telling me about a couple issues with static when he first got his.

    Yeah i think i will just go with the x12's as they seem pretty good for want i want, i actually do a lot of single player gaming more than online so just mainly want to be able to use them for gaming at night so don't have to have the tv loud.

    One thing that has started to confuse me now though is the mute switch, i was expecting this to actually cut the mic off so people in the game don't hear me in case i'm talking to someone in the room, which is pretty standard for a mic but then the way someone
    said it in a review made it seem like the mute switch is to turn off the mic monitoring feature that lets you hear yourself.

    So what i want to know is will i actually be able to mute my mic so people on xbox live can't hear me?
