Which game will be more successful, Skyrim or Fallout 4?

I don't think it will top Skyrim in overall sales. What do you guys think?

I just hope Fallout 4 is good. There was something I didn't like about FO3 so I'm hoping they've changed it just enough to like it. I didn't like Oblivion, but I loved Skyrim. Pete Hines of Bethesda thinks it could be more successful. Skyrim has sold over 20
million units and that was with systems that had a much bigger install base.

how good is Skyrim?

For me Fallout 3 and Skyrim are neck and neck.

Fallout 3 had more style and personality. Skyrim has a more beautiful environment.

Fallout 3 was darker, more foreboding. Skyrim is a happier place, less things to worry about.

Fallout 3 felt more realistic, gritty, desperate. Skyrim feels safe, more accommodating, gentler.

AI is quite weak in both. Skyrim had better quests.

Both good games....but if I had to choose one that had the most impact on me, it would be Fallout 3

 

What kind of Game Player are you?

I'd love to play the Campaigns of the whole COD series but just never had the time with my MP Addiction lol
The Elder Scrolls Series (Morrowind, Skyrim and soon to be Online) are my personal favourite but was never a fan of fallout. Maybe I didn't really give it a chance but Skyrim towers over fallout IMO.

Online seems more social to me and I just love the concept that every game is different, no-2 are the same but the campaigns can be rather linear.

 

Hmmm, I'm kind of the opposite, loved Fallout 3 and to me Skyrim never matched my love for Oblivion.

Will Fallout 4 top Skyrim? maybe yeah... either way it'll sell a shed load!

 

The hype over Fallout 4 doesn't seem nearly as high as it did for Skyrim. At least not to me.

 

Doesn't matter (only Bethesda cares about sales),for me,Skyrim is the worst Elder Scrolls,so far....I just hope Fallout 4 won't follow the same path (and downgrades) and technical issues.

 

Yeah,have to say I got about halfway through Skyrim & just found it boring,couldn't put Oblivion or Morrowind down though.

Loved Fallout 3 but found New Vegas dull.

Think Fallout 4 will sell by the bucketload.Will it be any good or beat Skyrim in sales?,only time will tell

 

I did enjoy Oblivion, in fact I thought it was brilliant but overall I did personally enjoy Skyrim a lot more.

Fallout 3 was a weird one at first. I remember counting the days until it released. Got it home, started playing, about 4-5 hours I was really struggling with it, just couldn't get into it so I stopped playing. Roughly 6 months later I decided to give it
another go, got past the point of where I got to on my first play and was absolutely hooked. Played through it twice ( including all the DLC ) and it is my favourite Xbox 360 title to date.

New Vegas. Again really struggled at first. Walked away, came back a few months later and still struggled so never got too far on this, major let down for me.

So how will Fallout 4 do? As others have said, only time will tell really. I'm sure it will sell bucket loads day one but as much as I look forward to it who can really say until they have actually played it? I honestly don't think no-one can. I guess I'm
still thinking back to New Vegas and hoping Fallout 4 doesn't go down the same road or there's not major bugs on day one ( which seems to happen a lot these days with games )

 

This is definitely a great question. I didn't get into the Elder Scrolls until Skyrim came out. I was pretty blown away by it. I was like OMG this is like Fallout but with magic and dragons. I was sold.

Like Lofty New Vegas wasn't doing it for me. There were many aspects I liked about it (hardcore mode for example) but for some reason I didn't want to sink all my time into it the way I did with Fallout 3.

I'm wicked excited for Fallout 4 and want it to live up to the hype.

 

Wasn't New Vegas made by a different developer?

 

^Yup, wasn't Todd Howard's team, so Fallout 4 is a sequel to Fallout 3 not New Vegas... Curious to see if bits of New Vegas make it into Fallout 4 though, Some adaptation of hardcore mode would be great!

Again, New Vegas as a huge let down for me. I wanted to like it so much after the enjoyment I got from Fallout 3 but not for the want of trying I just couldn't get into it.

I will be gutted if Fallout 4 follows Vegas but I shall remain optimistic

 

Loved 3 and loved Vegas, hardcore mode was great both games pushed my buttons and personally I will take a Fallout over an Elder Scrolls any day of the week.

 

Loved Morrowind and Fallout 3! Oblivion and New Vegas were good, but slightly dumbed down for the masses. Skyrim was alright, though it was the only Bethesda R.P.G. I never felt a need to buy the Game Of The Year edition.

Fallout 4 is looking good enough that I broke my rule on pre-ordering!

 

For me, Oblivion was awesome for its time and I enjoyed it a lot. But if you asked me what some of the really awesome things that I loved about it were now, I'd have to think for a few minutes to come up with a list.

Skyrim was better for me. I can come up with a list of things that stood out about it and what I loved about it a lot quicker than Oblivion.

Fallout was never as good as TES was for me. Not that I didn't like them, but it just didn't have the same appeal. NV got to the point that I just quit playing it because the fun didn't equal the aggravation of waiting on load screens.

I'm taking the wait and see approach with FO4.
