    Hello,

It is hard to determine the best drive. Look for reliability, compatibility and warranty.

The My Book HDD is highly used by Xbox One users and, according to Xbox support site, should be compatible. When you attach the storage device, you may be asked to format it. It is recommended that you do. After that, the device should be treated as default
    storage.

The situation is a bit different, when talking about Xbox 360, which may recognize the HDD, but with some significant size limitation. Officially your Xbox 360 will make use of up to 32GB of the external drive's space.

    Hope I helped

I purchased the Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive STDR2000100 Black last week at Best Buy for $99. It takes 2 seconds to setup and works like a charm! Happy gaming!

  7. August 26 2016. Just purchased the Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Slim STDR2000100. Very Happy how easy it worked with Xbox One. Plugged it in, format for games and in 2 minutes ready to go. No more deleting and reinstalling games. It is currently $79.99+ tax so
my total was $85. The green Seagate with the Xbox logo on it is priced at 99.99 right not which would probably come out to about $106 or $107 dollars. So already saved. The only difference is that green one is already formatted for games and is green with
the Xbox logo. THE Backup plus has the same specs, I think, and needs to be formatted, which literally took two seconds. So I just saved close to $370 because if this one didn't work, I was just going to buy the new Xbox one S. With the the 2tb built in. But
it does, no issues, yet. Will update if I come into anything.

Can I use a external disk drive for the disc less xbox one s?

    Hi,

No sorry. External blu-ray drives are not supported. Only external hard drives.

If you have a large collection of games on disc you should buy the console with the drive.
