    as long as it is a credit card it should work if you get a error code just go to xbox live to add the credit card

    VISA, Mastercard, AMEX (and Discover in the US)

    Or you can use PayPal which is available in India to send payment to Microsoft.

    If it's prepaid it won't work because XBOX/MS wants to set up recurring billing which most prepaids don't do. Get a real credit card or go to the store and buy a MS points card.

    Hi , what has worked for a lot of people is to select the payment option to use as Microsoft points rather than your credit card. There appears to be a glitch if you try to charge nothing to your credit card which makes sense I guess.
