Where's the love for early adoptors?

I don't think it makes anyone a dumber customer, i felt I was very logical and informed on my choice of getting a day one console, MS has dropped too much money in the platform to have another RRoD issue, and then they made it very clear that the X1 wasn't
going to have heat issues.

And the 180's were not made on a whim, there was an outcry and MS attempting to right what people were saying was wrong, didn't realize it was a bad thing for a company to listen to its customers

 

^^^ I wasn't calling anyone in particular "dumb" for being an early adopter. I was merely making a counter-point to what Sword Style said which was basically if you bought a ONE and aren't satisfied then you're an idiot and so are your shopping habits.
Speaking of idiotic things, he then goes on to say that if you don't like the ONE and it's games then you should quit gaming, altogether. LOL. What? That may very well be the dumbest thing I've ever seen anyone type on this website.

 

Nappy, your gamer score says alot. You obviously enjoy playing 360. You are one of us. And with that being said I did jump all over Xbox when mine went down.

 

I just state the facts. Facts are that Xbox is beating them as of now in 7th Generation sales, secondly despite the allegedly "high failure rate" (16%, 60% of that 16% which were RROD) Xbox the brand has taken a little over 500 million in losses since
Nov. 2005. And the PS3 Since Nov. 2006 have taken over a billion dollars in losses. Spin it any way you want numbers do not lie.

Forum" and a place for "Discussion". That discussion shouldn't be limited to only positive comments. If so, than it isn't a discussion nor is it an open forum. It's a giant one sided argument for Xbox fanboys. I've seen so many people in these forums, over
the years, get called stupid or a troll and told to go elsewhere by the "regulars" just because they simply voiced their displeasure with MS and the Xbox brand. I saw a thread a few weeks back asking why people no longer come to this site anymore. That's
a big reason why, IMO. It's either love the Xbox or kick rocks. That's not fostering discussion and it certainly isn't in the spirit of an open forum.

 

@NxtDoc- I agree. Sony has its flaws. So does Nintendo. I'm not spinning this into a console war. We're talking about MS, therefore my comments are directed at the 360 and the ONE. MS isn't perfect. Neither is the ONE or the 360 or the Kinect. People shouldn't
be told they're stupid for their opinions and encouraged NOT to make threads that state their displeasure. Same thing goes for Sony on Playstation forums and Nintendo on theirs.

I'm the same, I enjoy my Xbox consoles, I have owned them all, and I have been here a very long time, the Xbox One is a good console, but it needs work, and I'm sure the work will get done, we have been getting some good updates each month, but,,, I feel
the console is not the issue, I have posted this before, the reveal was a mess,

They (Microsoft) did not get the message or vision they had over to the gamers, bundling Kinect was always a fail in my opinion, for the simple reason, there was mixed reviews about Kinect 1.0, now I know it's not Kinect 2.0 and it's better than Kinect 1.0,
but the gamers had nothing else to compare it to, if Kinect 2.0 was better let it sell itself,

Another disaster, the PR, comments like "We have a device for people with little or no connectivity, it's called an Xbox 360" did nothing to smooth it over, it was more like adding fuel to the fire, the reaction to that comment
was,,, look at the sales, either they're sticking with the 360 that create threads like this, or they jumped ship.

 

@Nappy I like you, I respect your opinion and think you contribute a great deal here. However you are wrong about 1 thing, people dont come here because of the layout. Before May 2011 this forum was booming, everyone was a regular. I just got out of a party
with a coupke of mods and they both said they wished the forums never changed. Secondly you arent technically wrong about criticizing MS and this being a big circle jerk, but it gets tiresome trying to ward off Sony fanboys who are just here to put down xbox.
Sure Xbox One has its flaws, Ill be the first to admit that, but for some people to only come here to criticize just shows how badly people hate on MS.

You have some people who claim to only browse to correct false information, yet they only participate in the obvious troll threads. Look at this forum compared to the General Game Discussion forum(where I see you post alot)its like night and day. Yeah some
of us get into it, but the amount of troll threads is nil compared to here. A thread about a new game will barely get 2 pages but a I hate kinect thread will go on for 10 pages, why? Because of trolls. I mean I have no interest in a PS4 yet, but Im not on
the Sony forums trolling about their CEO hyping indy games and the lack of 1st party games they have. Why? Because I have better things to do.

All in all I think the whole resolution thing needs to die. The entitlement people have needs to die. The console war needs to die. As a gamer its cool to have a go to console, but you should play everything. You want free stuff because you got a console
8 months ago and now there is a sale? Doesnt make sense. I bought a car in March and the same car goes on sale in October, am I entitled to some sort of freebie? Nope. It doesnt make sense why gamers think they deserve anything. And its even more troubling
when companies give into them. If you want free stuff join the ambassador program. Ive gotten season passes, games, themes, avatar items and inside knowledge from the program.

 

EB Games gave me free Xbox wrist bands and Xbox necklaces and Xbox stickers when I picked up my Xbox 1 Day 1. They were a present from Microsoft since those free items all bared the official Xbox logo. They also autographed the controller for me it has Day
1 2013 on it. That's how they've shown love for early adopters to me. They also keep the system up to date and provide updates which SUPPORT your Xbox 1 system, regardless if you are an early adopter or have recently decided to get Xbox 1 because there's a
Kinect-less SKU.

 

Respect Nappy. I agree, this is all about discussion. Hence the forum name. Some people do lose sight, but at the same time of you are a regular and over the years I am sure you run into a lot of DB's who just bash the Xbox brand, and that can be frustrating.
I see both sides.

 

You know who is to blame for that, its the regular members of the forum.

I've seen people who post well thought out posts go into a thread of a topic they don't like and troll. They don't attempt to contribute to the topic or explain why the OP is wrong, nope they just post to insult and derail.

You don't 'beat' trolls by employing their own tactics.

If the people on here who claim they don't like the 1080p threads, for example, didn't post in them then they wouldn't be the most active threads.
