Where to get the device remote code?

My Xbox One can correctly turn my TV on and off, and also my cable box. I want it to control my audio system too. So I went here:

Xbox Home > Settings > TV & Guide > Troubleshoot > Enter Device Code > Audio Receiver Code

Where do I get the code to use?

Microsoft says get the code from RCA, RCA says get the code from Microsoft.
If the Kinect is functioning as a universal remote (it is), then I don't see how RCA would know the code I need. When you buy a universal remote, it comes with a giant list of codes specific to that universal remote. The company that builds the device
being controlled (TV, satellite box, audio receiver, etc) doesn't keep a list of codes for every possible universal remote maker.



So where is the list of possible codes to enter into this settings screen? Even Microsoft's own Xbox 360 media remote came with a list of codes (which don't work here). Where's the list??

I did some of my own investigating.

The IR blaster is a device that has the same tech in your IR remote. Typically, its a corded-remote that you mount over the area where the IR port is.. This is how your AV Revicer, Tivo, etc can remote control your device.

 

Audio Receiver Remote Code (Panasonic SU-HTB20)

I dont see an area where I could manually set the remote code for this device if I even knew what the remote code is.

With that said, xbox one is not setting the remote code for this device. The support line told me to post the issue here.

Hey there Cmdr. While I do not have a list of codes for you, I do have another option to get your audio system set up with the console.

In your Settings menu, select "Display & Sound" and then in the 3rd column, select "Set up TV & A/V control." This will bring up options to set up your TV, STB, and Audio Receiver. As long as your receiver is connected to your entertainment system, you should
be able to set it up through that menu.

 

Hi there, I was just going through this same issue after buying the XBOX One remote made by PDP. After doing a decent amount of googling I was able to find a list that had the code I needed.

Hi - I asked this question 4 years ago. I've since replaced my sound system with a new Samsung one that Xbox "knows how to talk to" so to speak. The old RCA one had died on me (would no longer turn on).
