where is this digital trade in store MS hinted toward to get rid of the problem people seen?

I dont see digital trade in ever being possible. A trade option between users would be awesome though

We just had a thread about this a couple days ago.

It's a legal issue regarding ownership. Unless a bunch of people can come to a mutually acceptable financial agreement it'll never happen...."I'll see you in court" is more than likely what we'll see for years to come.

That idea was, unfortunately, killed along with Microsofts original vision for the Xbox One because of the cry babies on the internet.

If Microsoft kept their "Original Vision"...I would bet the Ouya would be outselling the X Box One! ;-)

Sayburr - The original DRM 24 hour policy had nothing to do with Digital trade in / sales.

old disc-based games back for cash and credit. We designed Xbox One so game publishers can enable you to trade in your games at participating retailers. Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or

disc-based games to your friends. There are no fees charged as part of these transfers. There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can

For the post below. An idea has to be implemented, before it can be killed off, and digital trading was never written into the policies.

It was only mentioned after the 24 hour check-in was removed.. Which is convenient to say the least

I have read elsewhere that you do not actually "own" anything so you have nothing to trade in. You are just licensing the right to use the game.

And the above is not intended to be one of those types of comments. I just do not see how you can "trade" something you do not own if that is the case. No reason to let anyone trade in that case. Only benefit would be allowing older games be traded in
for a few $$ discount on a new game to help increase digital sales.

Easy solution. Require a game to have to check in once to verify ownership. To go digital you have to be online anyway. And if I sell it my account loses the rights to the game. That is the thing with digital and they way they have this set up.

1. Digital games are tied to console and account.

2. To sell a game you would have to be online so that would eliminate your license at that point.

Now, one could bypass this by selling on another console but keeping the original offline. Two things:

1. To purchase a new game on that console you would have to go online. Thus you would then get the license check for content and it would be removed and no longer work.

2. They could require the sell of license to happen only on the console of purchase or current console the license resides on if a license transfer has occurred. That would mean no selling a license and still using it. Of course the purchasing gamertag
would have to be logged on to sell. And they could even add a passcode for protection so someone's kid did not accidently get them logged in an sell their games.

Still I have to wonder if they will ever happen. I do not see the profit in it for them. And without that I do not see why they would do it. They may though. And if they do I would have to believe it is something truly for the gamer and for good customer
relations.

Also, and not sure if they have something like this, but I would like to see game sharing. Not full on permanent. Just a situation where, say, I buy a game and like the online. I want a friend to play but she/he does not have the game and is on the fence
or not even considering purchase. I can go in and "share" my license with her/him for a certain amount of in-game mp gaming. That way I can get them trying it. And we all know that having friends in the match can make it more fun. Could increase sales
for them and that would be a nice digital purchase feature.
