    Where is the MIC Icon for sending Voice Messages??


    Hello there:

    Whenever I want to send a message to someone, I have 2 problems:

    1. The message can only be like :15 - can or is this gonna be increased to accommodate longer messages?

    2. Why is there no Microphone option when you select a user from your friends list? I can send a message, but there is no way to tap a mic icon anywhere when you "send a message," but I find it ODD that the only way to send a voice message is to go to
    "messages"

    Please put the MIC icon in anywhere you can send messages: It should have been there anyways, rather then to be under "messages" and I cant see any messages sent to me, only the ones I send out: can be confusing!!

    being muted for no reason

    Check your voice chat settings in the preferences menu, make sure your mic is on and connected join a party and you should see the icon

    Can connect to party chat but everyone's mic is not working....

    im having the same issue with the party not working but the mic works fine when sending voice messages

    How many find this disturbing or ever noticed this?

    At least if they have a mic icon, you know you can send them a message and they do have a mic and can join the game channel easily. I prefer seeing mics even if they are silent, then being in a game where nobody has a headset plugged in.

    MisterMoo1031, go to messages and record an audio voice message to send to a friend with the headset. You don't have to send it to the friend, but you can play the message back to yourself prior to sending. Did it record what you said through your mic?
    This is just a test to see if the mic is actively working despite lighting up in parties.

    should messaging someone ingame with headset not default to voice message?

    From the below it appears that the default is text and if you want to send voice you have to select the microphone.

    Send messages to friends

    To send messages to one of your friends through Xbox One:

    Sign in to Xbox Live.

    On your Xbox One Wireless Controller, press the Xbox button.

    Go to the Friends hub and select Friends online.

    Highlight the friend's gamertag, and then press the A button on your controller.

    Select Send and then select Message to send a text message, or select the microphone icon to send a voice message.

    Enter or record your message.

    When finished, select Send.
