Where is start button on Xbox one controller?

got new Xbox one S for Xmas, loaded new game and screen says push start to play, what is the start button! Nothing works to start game play.

Hi, it's the small button to the right of the large button in the centre of the controller. Usually pressing A will also work with most games but not always.

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Usually, you are able to press any button on those screens to continue to the game. The start button is called the "menu" button on our Xbox controllers. You can find a diagram of the controller here :

The start (menu) button is in the middle of your controller. It is a small button with 3 horizontal lines.
