Where is Outrun2?

I just put in a support ticket for this, but I can't seem to find Outrun2 in any form on the site, and my disc doesn't work. I just bought this game used, and it's one of my favorite games, but it wont load–I get a 'game error' message and it says to download
the game (again), which would be fine, but I can't find any mention of it anywhere on the Xbox site. It's as if it doesn't exist at all.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I havent had any probs with xbox locking up since update and the forums work fine for me.

I had to delete half my hard drive to get it working again so id be wary as it aint all that anyway

 

Hey bud. Is the game a Xbox 360 disc? If so Microsoft may not have made it backwards compatible. To find the list of 360 games goto the Xbox live store on your console. Hope this helps. If you have anymore problems let me know.

Outrun 2 and Outrun 2 Coast to Coast are original Xbox games and are backwards compatible with the Xbox 360 console. However, backwards compatibility requires an official Xbox 360 hard drive. If you bought a cheap drive from eBay or a private seller from
Amazon then these games will not work.

 

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. It's actually an Xbox disc, and I'm trying to play it on my 360, and it *is* listed on list of games with backward compatibility. As to the drive in my console, I do have the official Xbox drive installed, so I'm at a loss.
I get this "Game Error" message when I start the console up directing me to try downloading the game again, but when I search games for "Outrun2", nothing comes up. It's very strange.

 

How do you know for sure that your hard drive is official? Did it come with your console? Was your console purchased new?

Unofficial hard drives are missing a hidden hard drive partition with the BC settings. This partition is not found on third party hard drives, many third party hard drives are sold on sites such as Amazon and eBay as 'Official Microsoft' hard drives, even
going as far as having Microsoft logo's on them. Also, all hard drives on the Xbox 360, official or otherwise, will say 'Microsoft' next to them in the system settings screen on the console, this too is no indication of whether a hard drive is official or
not.

Other than that, it could be that the disc is damaged.

Outrun 2 and Outrun 2 Coast to Coast were never released as a digital download. This is why nothing shows up when you search for them. There was Outrun Online Arcade game for the Xbox 360, unfortunately in December 2011 it was removed from Xbox Live Arcade
due to the expiration of Sega's contract with Ferrari. This removal does not effect the original Xbox game discs or Outrun.

However, like I said, if there is something wrong with your hard drive or your disc is damaged, you won't be able to play these games on your Xbox 360. At the very least, you must have an official Xbox 360 hard drive.

 

Hey there, Yes, I purchased the console new from Walmart, and also purchased the hard drive there as well–it came in a Microsoft/Xbox-branded package and I specifically sought out the 'official version' because I was wary that if I did use an unsupported
third party drive, then there was the chance that games might not load correctly, or at all, as is the case here. You might be right–perhaps the game disc itself is bad. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'll see what I can do to get it running.
