    Where/how can I file a grievance on controller joystick drift


    There is currently a class action lawsuit that MS is trying to get thrown out and go into arbitration on involving XBOX controller joystick drift. You would think that since this is a known issue, MS would agree to fix a controller that is just a few months out of warranty for this known issue. There are even websites out there showing exactly what the issue is (grease on the potentiometer) and It's all over the forums.

    My question is how to I file a formal grievance with MicroSoft or ask for arbitration to get this issue resolved?

    Joystick drifting is where movement is being detected by the controller even when you are not touching the joystick.

    Drift is just wear and tear on the copper contacts in the joystick module it is not only Xbox controllers that do it. I have been repairing arcade joysticks since the early 90s for this same issue. sadly it just happens... even to my elite controller and
    if you are out of warranty and are tech savvy a quick google or youtube search will show you how and where to install new joystick modules.

    I just got a Xbox controller for Christmas. And as soon as I connected it to my Xbox it had drift on the right joystick. I opened the controller right from the box and didn’t get any dust of anything like that near it but still it drifts. I wanted a new Xbox controller because my old controller had drift. Crazy how out of the box it already has drift.
