    Where does the xbox app install games?


    I've recently changed my SSD (C drive) to a larger one and am moving all my games and apps over to the new one however, i cant seem to find Sea of Thieves which was downloaded in my HDD somewhere (E drive) . I've looked in windows apps folder but its completely empty and cannot find it whatsoever Any help would be appreciated

    Hi PatrickJohnson,

    There's generally a default location that the games are saved to on your PC. You can change this by following these steps.

    1. Open your Settings app and click System.
    2. Go to Storage.
    3. Locate the ‘Change where new content is saved’ link.
    4. Go to the ‘New apps will save to:’ section.
    To move the games or apps is a little bit different.

    1. Press the Windows logo + I key shortcut to invoke the Settings app.
    2. Once you are in it, go to Apps.
    3. Locate the game you wish to move.
    4. Click Move.

    Hi Jame5E,

    By default, it will install to C:\XboxGames if you have more than one drive in your pc you will get the option to choose a different drive when installing a new game.

    You can also move an already installed game to a different drive with the 'Manage Installs' option

    go to My Library

    then top right select 'Manage Installs'

    select 'Manage' on the game

    select the files tab to find the change drive option

    It's also possible to change the default location in Profile/settings/general

    How do I remove an uninstalled game from Xbox App?

    The package for the install in WindowsApp is gone.

    I removed several registries for LastStop that were in Gaming Services.

    Did resets for Gaming Services and Xbox App.

    I did a wsreset.

    The game still shows on the sidebar for my Xbox App. Where does this come from?

    what game is it?

    where does it say "this product is installed"?

    there are 3 separate lists for installed games.

    go to My Games and Apps

    select Full Library

    then check in All Owned Games, Xbox Game Pass and Games With Gold
