Where do save files from 360 games save to on Xbox One?

I just recently got an Xbox One X after upgrading from an original Xbox One. All of my save data for my Xbox One games transferred over onto my new console without having to transfer them to an external hard drive. However, 2 of my backwards compatible 360
games that I was playing (Beyond Good and Evil HD and Deus Ex: Human Revolution) which I had stored on the internal drive of my old Xbox One did not transfer over. I installed both games onto my new Xbox One X and all my old save files have not transferred
over. I did not get the option to save my 360 games to the cloud so I assumed by default they did that anyway like the One games all do.

Would the game files have only saved onto the internal hard-drive and would I have had to transfer them over manually? For some reason when playing 360 games I am not connected to Xbox live according to the 360 hub but when I press my controller's Home button
and go back to the Xbox One's home page I am still connected. If I did not transfer the files manually does that mean I have lost them?

That depends if you had that save file transported from a Xbox 360 to Xbox One via Cloud Save or you started the save on Xbox One

Where did you delete the save file? Xbox 360 or Xbox One?

I was playing the games on another Xbox One not a 360. Would I have to have done the same thing on my old console? I thought all games played on the Xbox One automatically saved to the cloud, or is that only Xbox One games that do that?

If your saved game is stored only on your Xbox 360, do the
following before playing on Xbox One: On your Xbox
360 console, go to Settings > System > Storage > Cloud Saved Games, and then select Enable. Start your game. When you're prompted to select a device for saving your game, choose Cloud Saved Games.

Hi! Just in order to avoid any confusion: Is your old save file for the Xbox 360 version of GTA San Andreas? Please keep in mind that although both the OG Xbox and Xbox 360 version of this title work on the Xbox One, only the newer Xbox 360 version will
be downloaded and therefore you can only use your old save game if you played the game for the Xbox 360 in the past.

Yes my save file is on the Xbox 360 where I digitally purchased it from the store on my Xbox 360, I wouldn't expect them to be able to pull save files from OG Xbox!

You will need to get on your old Xbox 360, and manually transfer your TEW save file to the cloud, as it is most likely saved locally to the 360 console's hard drive. Please note that your Xbox profile will need an active Gold subscription to do this.

The Xbox One reads and writes save files over the cloud, especially with Xbox 360 backward compatibility. Once you transfer your 360 save to the cloud, you can pick up where you left off on the Xbox One.

Just so were clear, this isn’t a backward compatibility issue. The save is obviously from the 360 version of the game. I’m now playing the Xbox One version of the game (not backward compatible 360 version) and would like to continue from where I left off.
Is it even possible?
