where do I go now?

I have found the the capra demon, so wondering do I continue going that way and defeat the capra demon or do I go out into the forest area with those tree creatures? I'm a level 20 sorcerer and still have all the starting gear on don't know where to get
better stuff (I do know where to buy spells and whatnot so buying spells isn't a problem just equipment). Anyway I rung the first bell and I have basically defeated all the mini bosses in the undead burg, except that red dragon, and the Capra demon, unless
there's still mini bosses in undead burg past them. Anyway for the dragon on the bridge I take one step out and I automatically die. I even walk slowly as possible and still can't get close to it no matter what I try.

So anyway which way do I go from here?

yeah I just find it odd, I did see someone had posted a thread about how much space they had before installs but guess it got buried. Other than that I have not experienced any issues, the kinect is something that will evolve as time goes on with updates.Very

If my memory is still okay.... killing the Capra Demon will get you the key to the sewers (forget the in-game name), which will lead you to the normal (long) way towards the 2nd Bell Tower. ( I believe it goes Capra--> Depths-->Blight Town--> 2nd Belltower)

 

One thing you'll find is that "better stuff" is a much debated topic. DkS is very well balanced in that there are trades to everything. You may find armor that protects better against physical damage, but not against magic damage. It may also be too heavy
for you to wear and still fast roll, meaning you may be better off with the lighter armor that doesn't have as much protection. If you carefully search areas and loot dead bodies, you can acquire more armor and weapons as you go along, but depending on your
stats and playstyle, what is "better" will be completely subjective.

 

You can actually avoid going through the Depth and half of Blightown itself by using the master key on the locked gate in New Londo Ruins. Cross the bridge and turn right. Enter the giant cave and climb a bunch of ladders (and one giant waterwheel) down.
You will be VERY close to the boss gaurding the 2nd bell then.

 

OK I think i'm lost a bit I couldn't defeat the capra demon because of the dogs and due to the fact the room is to tiny to really fight in. so I went into Darkroot Basin trying to find a different way to the second bell. So I ran into the midnight butterfly
defeated it in 2 tries, then couldn't find anywhere else to go so I walked back and found the hydra took me 8 tries to kill, then I ran into that gold golem defeated it in 1 try and freed the dusk of oolacile bought all the spells from her. Then ran into 3
giant wolves by going up a giant ladder took me 4 tries to kill them. Then ran into the great grey wolf the one with the giant sword it was halfway dead but couldn't heal in time I tried to go back but died as soon as I entered through the door. So i'm wondering
am I going the right way or no?

edit: Also I have got to admit I didn't like this game at fist because I kept dieing but I have gotten better at playing as a sorcerer and really enjoying this game now and could see why a lot of people like this game.

 

Sorry for double post I know people said a shortcut was through valley of drakes but figured maybe there was a way through darkroot basin which only lead me to the bosses I mentioned above.

 

To answer your question, no. Right now you have two options. 1. Figure out how to beat the Capra Demon (hint: staircase) and continue in that direction through the Depths and Upper Blighttown. Much death and frustation awaits you along this path. 2. You
have overlooked something not even ten steps frome the Firelink bonfire, a staircase that leads down. Following that path leads to New Londo Ruins. Do Not cross the dock and enter the area with the ghosts as you are not ready for that yet. Exploring the area
you will find a NPC that is key for mage builds and the gate mentioned in my above post. Also, do not even consider either option unless you are well stocked on poison and toxin remedies. Hope all this helps.

 

So i'm guessing I wasn't supposed to go to darkroot basin until later in game? if so then it will at least be a bit easier now since most of the mini bosses there are defeated.

Anyway for the capra demon figured as much but the dogs keep getting in the way and block me from the stairs most of the time. Will eventually get it though. Anyway I guess i'll try out the ruins.

darksouls.wiki.fextralite.com is a great, well detailed source for all things Dark Souls, and is what I used when I needed some advise for my first playthrough.

 

Note: you can only do the shortcut through the ruins if you have the master key.

You should also defeat the Capra Demon because he gives you a key that you can use to get an item that allows you to upgrade weapons.

 

If you don't have the key, you can access the Valley of Drakes through Darkroot Basin. When you are coming down the mountain from Darkroot Forest, there is a somewhat hiddenish path with a Black Knight guarding a cave. Kill him, go past the bonfire in
the cave and you'll be at the Valley of Drakes. That will allow you access to the shorter path through Blighttown.

 

There is a master key in Undead Parish.

 

Good point Lactos. I never actually thought about doing it that way, but it's certainly possible. You could also drain the water in New Londo Ruins and go through the gate, but I don't think we should suggest that to newer players, lol.

That is not correct. You can buy the master key from Domhnall of Zena in Firelink once he moves there, but he won't appear there until after you ring both bells.
