    The new Fortnite patch came out that was a ridiculous 2 Gig patch. I click update and no update occurs. I do not know if that is an Xbox or Fortnite issue to be honest. The update button does not update the game and the game will not launch. I have
    only received the same auto response from "Fortnite Tech Support" which by the way could not be submitted through the Xbox. Obviously nobody at Epic/Fortnite is reading tech support messages since I have been down 3 days now. No you need to set up an e-mail
    account, link your epic account to your xbox account, and a then use a laptop or other device that you have to buy other than the device you already own that is able to submit such requests on. It is totally ridiculous, annoying, and I can see why my brother
    just switched to PS4. He also does not have to pay for a "live subscription" just to play multiplayer. Who do I talk to to fix the update button not starting an update? Every other game and device works in my house and on the Internet. Who is responsible
    for the update button not working? How do I get help?

    Terrible customer service. Need help contacting someone to get stuff done.

    I somehow ended up with two gamertags, separate accounts but with one email. That shouldn't be possible and I have no idea how it happened. What it means is that now I cannot log into my original one and instead can only log into the new one.

    I contacted Xbox support about this and they were pretty surprised about it. They forwarded it to their "investigation department".

    That's where it has been for over a month. I contact tech support, give them my service request number, they look it up and tell me "the team is working on it." Then nothing. Supposedly the team is "verifying account information" which I think is unlikely
    since both accounts have my info and they have never contacted me.

    Tech support is not able to give me contact info for this make-believe "investigation department" and in fact can not even contact them to ask about my case for me. So nothing is getting done and noone can tell me why.

    Does anyone have a better contact for tech support? a manager to complain to? know a guy in this "investigation department?" Any help would be appreciated.

    NEW DASHBOARD UPDATE BROKE THE APPS SEARCH! ALSO TURNED ON CLOSED CAPTIONING IN CONOLE OPTIONS!

    still waiting for an answer... there is no option to turn it off 100% in the app (I confirmed this with their tech support)... so it has to be done on the xbox settings. Problem is that the setting where their support says it can be turned off and on,
    doesn't even show up on my xbox...

    If it is failing the update, a worse case scenario would be to uninstall and reinstall the game.

    Could be the update patch itself and the game you have installed is bugged or has been corrupted.

    If you're in the states you can call them at 800-469-9269

    They can help troubleshoot the Xbox but it not a phone number for a replacement.

    If they determine there's an issue with the Xbox console that needs repair, they can assist with creating a repair order for your console.

    Where did you buy the console from?

    The Xbox One X was only released in November, so take it back or return it to where you bought it from and get them to replace it.

    It is the people you bought it from responsibility to replace faulty hardware, not Microsoft (unless of course you bought it from the Microsoft store but then you'd need to be contacting them and not Xbox Support).
