Where do downloaded files go?

Just to clarify, you can access the file using File Explorer? If so you should be able to delete it from there.

Where do I find the download files to do that

I agree a warning would be good. The reason for doing this is to stop corrupt files/game downloads, where part of the files are downloaded and being installed and the update is cancelled.

If you go on a pc, does the store give you the option to download your games? You can try that, or for the CoD issue, uninstall the game and then try to reinstall it.
