Whenever I connect a controller to Flight Sim The game closes.

I’ve spent countless hours trying to fix this problem and still haven’t found out anything. Did anyone find a true fix to it.?

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble connecting your controller to Flight Simulator. I understand that you have tried some methods online, but they did not work. To help you with this issue, I would like to ask you a few questions:

• - What type of controller are you using? Is it an Xbox wireless controller, a wired controller, or a third-party controller?
  
• - Have you updated your controller firmware to the latest version? You can check this by going to Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories on your Xbox console or PC.
  
• - Have you checked the controller settings in Flight Simulator? You can access them by going to Options > Controls in the main menu of the game.
  
• - Do you have any other devices connected to your Xbox console or PC that might interfere with the controller signal, such as headphones, keyboards, or mice?
  

In the meantime, please try the following steps to see if they help:

- Make sure your controller is updated to the latest firmware version. You can do this by connecting it to your PC via USB and using the Xbox Accessories app.

- Make sure your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Flight Simulator. You can check them here: Microsoft Flight Simulator | Xbox

- Make sure your PC and Flight Simulator are updated to the latest version. You can check for updates in the Microsoft Store app or in the Windows Settings app.

- Try running Flight Simulator as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the game icon and select "Run as administrator".

- Try disabling any antivirus or firewall software that might interfere with the game. You can also add Flight Simulator to the list of allowed apps in your security software settings.

- Try changing the USB port that your controller is connected to. You can also try using a different controller or a keyboard and mouse to see if the issue persists.

I have the same issue.

I have gone through multiple iterations of graphics drivers, scanning system files, and completely reinstalling the game multiple times (including today's 14 release).

The CTD is always in NTDLL.DLL. And it happens when the XBOX wireless controller is connected to the PC.

If I start FS without the controller it runs perfectly, but will CTD the instant the wireless controller is paired.

If I start FS with the controller already connected, it will CTD about 3 seconds after the Safe mode question/prompt.

With all the re-installs and driver changes that I've done, the one constant seems to be whether the Xbox controller is connected.

3. Run the game in compatibility mode.

Try running Flight Sim in compatibility mode. Right-click on the game's icon and select "Properties", then click on the "Compatibility" tab and check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select an earlier version of Windows.
