When you switched from Xbox One to Xbox Series S, what did you do about your disc games?

What did you mean by you still have the game ownership on your Xbox Series S? Did you mean by ownership as currently installed on your Series S?

Please be informed that the license of game from a disc is stored in the disc itself. It's required that you insert the disc to be able to play the game. Since you're on Series S, it's not possible to use the license from a disc. You would need to purchase the game digitally to link its license directly to your account.

Sorry to hear about that, however, do you have the game on disc? If so, please note as advertised, Xbox Series S is all-digital, so if you transfer games from your Xbox one to Series S, only digital games would be playable - unless you have the Series X, to insert the disc for its license.

You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

What do you mean by this?

Your digital games aren't permanently tied to one console, so you wouldn't have to buy them again if you bought a Series S. Obviously, you can't play disc-based games on the Series S as it has no disc drive.

But yeah, apart from things like the USB ports, the Series S hardware is completely different to the One S, so even if it was possible to upgrade the hardware of a console, you'd be replacing basically everything anyway.

Hitman 3 is an offline game so your internet connection will have zero impact on playing the game missions.

All Xbox One and Series X|S disc games fully install to the hard drive when run for the first time. After this the disc is only accessed to prove ownership. They are not read during play. It's not a laser issue.

Which Xbox do you own? Hitman 3 is a 30fps title on the Xbox One and 60fps on Series X|S.
