  1. When will the Xbox One have 4k support?

So I have a 4k display and the Xbox one only displays at 1920*1080 max. I didn't expect games to go up to 4k, but I was hoping that the Home screen and other apps would. I know there was some talk about this back around launch, but it has been awhile and
I have not heard anything recently. I am happy to see all the updates so fast But would like 4k support.

    Has anyone heard anything?

    Thank you!

    :)

My Bluray 4K works.... but in FULLHD instead of 4K

Hello, my name is Emilio, i bought a new xbox one S last week with a couple of Bluray 4K movies, i have a Samsung 4K TV, and when i connect the Xbox it's working at 4K but, when i played the movie 4K it works in FULLHD instead of 4K, when i finish the movie
and i use Xbox for games, or other thinks it works another time in 4k.

So.... why when i play bluray 4k the definition turns to FULLHD? do you know how to watch the bluray 4k movies in 4K instead of FullHD?

    thanks

    Does OneGuide app support 4k?

I have the directv 4k receiver and have it hooked up through my Xbox one s, but when I watch the 4k channels it says My tv does nit support 4k and instead converts channel to 1080p. when I hook it directly to my 4k tv the channels display in 4k. Does the
    Oneguide tv app support 4k?

When will the Xbox One have 4k support?

Don't know but you are best posting in the feedback forums

Maybe if enough people request it Microsoft will add it considering they have recently started adding other features requested by customers.

  5. I'm pretty sure there aren't many people out there with a 4k display at the moment. Especially compared to the number of people that would benefit from other requested features.

Also if you consider that the few hundred people that have 4k displays compared to the millions that are just using HD. I don't think at this time it would be an effective use of system resources.

I'm sure after more optimisation and when 4k becomes more common, this will be considered.

I wouldn't bet on it being within the next 12 months.

  6. Your 4K UHDTV should convert 1080p to 4K anyways as nothing is Native; yet. The console has a hard time running native 1080p with many of the games running 720-900p at 30-60fps. I was also reading that 4K only supports 30fps native at the moment so you would
lose 30 frames per second on games that support that... I was looking into getting a newer Samsung but after this info I will wait until games are native and 60fps is norm for 4K and more content is released for it. Until then I am happy with my Samsung A650
    52 inch.

I'm sure it will come eventually, but right now 4K is still fairly new and in its infancy.

When will the Xbox One have 4k support?

I'd be surprised if 4k native came to this generation of consoles.

As mentioned, most people still have SD TV, a large majority have HDTV and a small portion have 4K with no console games supporting it and Netflix only supporting a few movies right now in that resolution.

Until it becomes more mainstream in a few years I wouldn't expect developers to put time into making games run that high.
