When will the smell go away?

I spilled shrimp scampi sauce in my Xbox series X. Whenever its on it smells like it now. But the Xbox works completely fine. When do you think the smell will go away. It happened 3 weeks ago.

I would get this cleaned ASAP. Liquid spillage (almost any type of liquid) will eventually damage the motherboard of the console, eating away at the tracers on the circuit board. It may be working now, but eventually it most certainly won't be.

We cannot guarantee when the smell will go away, but your console needs to be cleansed, especially since this can damage it, so if you cannot clean it, i would recommend taking it to a Technical Support. If you don't have any where you live, i recommend contacting Support about it.

Sorry your X if giving a smell. Hard to say without actually smelling it, but I would let it run a bit. It's either one of two things, either a bad console, or new electronics. First, make sure it's in a well ventilated area. If it appears to work well,
then just keep watching it, and see if the smell goes away. If you're still having issues with the smell, then you can see if the retailer has replacement Scorpio editions, which I doubt they do, in which case you would need to do a warranty replacement
here.

Like I said though, I would for sure let it go a bit and watch it closely. Sometimes new electronics just smell funny when they heat up for the first time.

Maybe you're sense of smell is better than most, and its normal. I would just make sure to keep an eye on it for a day or two and see if the smell goes away.

As with most new products this happens (just like that new item smell)

IF the smell does not fade out from use a good 24hrs of HARD use ( being on most of the time).

Then take it back to store or request MS/XBL repair to look at it.

IF you see smoke unplug system and get it replaced. I have had this happen when the slims first came out went away after a day (that smell will hang out in the room/house for a bit).
